McVay teams always way too late to the line. Always a scramble with the play clock. Always a bad play when late. Once you see it you can’t stop seeing it.

I think that was one thing that was part of the Brady formula was always getting the play in and the linemen to hustle.

Whether spots are overturned or upheld feels like the most random part of instant replay. I can’t fault McVay for throwing the challenge flag, presumably against the advice of his coaches upstairs.
Spots are rarely overturned on plays like sneaks or HB dives where there’s a muck of bodies.

And nothing in the replays suggested he had it

Rams have so much talent but just can’t get out of their own way sometimes.

They are in the Championship game and may have enough talent to overcome it all, but they are less than the sum of their parts.

I can’t tell if the coaching is overrated or if the Rams’ non-marquee guys are not very good, but you’re absolutely right.
