For the Pats to get in with a loss, are the Steelers a factor? I thought they needed both a Dolphins and a Steelers loss, but the Athletic has just the Dolphins game being important.
Not really what that article says, imo. If you read the Steelers scenario you can back out that if the Pats lose they need Fish and Steelers to also lose. For the Pats to get in with a loss, are the Steelers a factor? Not saying that’s incorrect but it’s odd they wouldn’t put that detail in the Pats’ section. Not really what that article says, imo. If you read the Steelers scenario you can back out that if the Pats lose they need Fish and Steelers to also lose.
All I've read says that if the Pats lose, they now need both Miami and Pittsburgh to lose as well. For the Pats to get in with a loss, are the Steelers a factor? I thought they needed both a Dolphins and a Steelers loss, but the Athletic has just the Dolphins game being important.
Article seems cursory. The Miami odds are also weird. They are a 3.5 point home favorite (ESPN) and if win are in. Athletic odds are ~42%. Seems low.Not saying that’s incorrect but it’s odd they wouldn’t put that detail in the Pats’ section.

That makes sense, for a sec I blanked out even though I know Pats scenario. I must have internalized a Bills victoryMiami needs a win and a Patriots loss.
Agreed, thanks. Well, Red Zone might be fun today.Article seems cursory. The Miami odds are also weird. They are a 3.5 point home favorite (ESPN) and if win are in. Athletic odds are ~42%. Seems low.
That was fun - until the KC game. It's always good to get in, plus the Pickett factor you mentioned. I imagine you'll remember knocking out the Shitbirds and giving Ben one last hurrah a lot more than the end result.
It's tough to see the Broncos being good given how hamstrung they are, but they've still got a really good defense. The Bears will have a ton of money and draft capital (besides the Claypool pick, my word) and the Jets are a QB away if they can find it.
I am a Steelers fan and knew they were in trouble having to rely upon the Jets and Joe Flacco.MIA gets the last spot. I bet the Steelers fans hate the Jets, pitiful performance
Maybe they shouldn’t have let my boy Zach light them up for two TDs in the 4th quarter when they were up 10.MIA gets the last spot. I bet the Steelers fans hate the Jets, pitiful performance
9-2 with Watt and 1-6 without him.I am a Steelers fan and knew they were in trouble having to rely upon the Jets and Joe Flacco.
From being 1-4, then 2-6 with a rookie QB, I am still rather surprised they went 7-2 down the stretch and finished with Tomlin's 16th straight winning season. No banners for that though.
Agreed, and their home loss to the Ravens.9-2 with Watt and 1-6 without him.
Those brutal home losses to Jets and Pats were the killer.
They got it back in Baltimore so that’s fine. But those two games sigh.Agreed, and their home loss to the Ravens.
Three years is a long time in the NFL.I actually think they have a pretty good chance of tying the Pats. They're going to be good year in and year out unless Mahomes suffers a terrible injury. It'll be interesting, though, if they don't get the #1 seed, because then they'll have to win 2 games to get there.
