The only way I want to see them bring back Marcus Morris is if ANOTHER TEAM sends the Celtics an unprotected 1st round pick to do so :)

Can someone explain what the S&T with Rozier gives the Celtics right now? Did Charlotte send us some sort of compensation? We didn't sign Kemba as a S&T right?

deep inside Guido territory
B-Robb on 98.5 right now saying the conflicting reports about Al are the result of posturing by both teams and his agent. Says the silence is deafening. Now a very short list of teams with cap room he could go including Lakers, Clippers, and Sixers.

Charlotte can't give Terry that contract without the S&T I don't think. May just be helping Terry out.

It's all fluid right now, depending upon what happens in the next six days before contracts can become official.

Kemba will be coming here on a S&T though, just don't know if it's into cap space with an asset from Charlotte, or as an over the cap team with most likely one of Horford/Kyrie going out as a S&T.

I'd bet on the latter scenario.

So Celtics and Al want each other. The Nets know they have the Celtics over a barrel and are demanding a pretty penny in return. Horford is trying to help out the situation by saying he's discussing with other teams, making Danny's walk away threat believable. Sound about right?

Can the Nets sign all 3 of those free agents without a sign & trade from Boston? It would seem that some sort of 3 way trade is helping all 3 teams.

might have to give up the Memphis pick to make this happen
I can't imagine that happens. They can get ours or the Bucks pick that we own next year.

Remember when the Irving trade was happening and there was a late hiccup? Didn't it end up being an extra 2nd or something. I'm imagining this is the same type of thing.

Yeah. Ours with some protection or Milwaukee. Or maybe a protected future.

I don't buy the idea that Al necessarily wants to come back. It sure seems like he opted out, thought he had an offer he liked, it fell apart (or the guy he thought was going to go to LAC with him backed out) and now he's stuck waiting to see where the money is, with the door to Boston that he had closed maybe cracking open a bit as other options come off the board. Wouldn't be surprised if he waits to see what happens with Kawhi and Jimmy. LAC w/ Kawhi might be his preference, but that takes Kawhi deciding.

Edit- or he's waiting to see if Jimmy forces a S&T, and if not he's going to PHI who will then have space for him

Link? That’s a lot of speculation without evidence.

Of course it's speculation, this is all speculation, there hasn't been a single thing on Al except that he turned down a 30M option, and many m,any reporters said they heard he had a 4/112 offer out there. I'm just pointing out that those things lead more to him wanting to be somewhere else than the wishcasting in this thread that he is somehow trying to reduce the Nets leverage so he can come back to Boston. I'm making guesses based on what little we know. He doesn't opt out and decide to take meetings if his first option was coming back.

Welp..
Five-time All-Star F/C Al Horford has agreed to a four-year, $109M deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, agent Jason Glushon tells ESPN.

If AL ever convinces Embiid how to play and conduct himself the right way, look out Eastern Conference.

The S and T maneuvering is for the Cs to have $10 million to sign a big. It’s worth a protected Bucks pick.

Damn. That sucks that he landed in Philadelphia, but that's one oddly constructed team at the moment.
I guess, honestly it looks really well constructed, a terrific defensive starting 5, an offense of Simmons/Embiid and 3 shooters. Health will be an issue and maybe depth, but that starting 5 is ridiculous
