THAT'S you question about this?

The rest of us are stunned by the six-word thread title
Right. I need more information. For example, is it the Albert Pujols formerly of the Cards and Angels, or is it the Albert Pujols who works as a Comptroller for a small software company in Eugene, Oregon? Also, is it the Brooklyn Dodgers, or is it the LA Dodgers, or is a group of septuagenarians who dodged the draft for the Vietnam war?

^^^

7-27 with 3 HR. The other 4 hits are singles. I guess you can say that's sort of a small sample size.

Doesn't make a lot of sense with Muncy and Bellinger on the roster and while Bellinger has been on the IL since the fifth game of the season he's expected to start rehab in the coming week. Perhaps it's a hedge against that pending return or the thought that whatever they are paying him is worth the gamble being able to flip him for a more useful piece at some point.

Assuming Pujols came to peace with the realization that no one will give him a starting job, this is probably the best case scenario for him. With 26-man rosters, it's possible to have a bit of a renaissance of National League pinch-hitters, and Pujols is probably telling himself "Kirk Gibson only needed one at-bat in the '88 World Series, and he was in worse shape than I am".

Rogers Park
Betts is coming home!!
LOL

But seriously: they're getting great production out of every position but 2B, and that is manned by a top prospect whom it is way too early to give up on. Their rotation is amazing — Kershaw has the worst WHIP of the set, and it's a hair over 1. They have gotten some rocky performances in the bullpen that have lost them some winnable games, but that's hardly unusual.

What are they going to do with multiple power-hitting first basemen, neither of which are hitting at present?

Tsutsugo plays 1B/3B/LF. He’s basically a Rios replacement. He has totally sucked for the Rays, but everyone loved him coming from Japan, and he costs them nothing, so pretty low risk to give him a few weeks as a backup/pinch hitter and see if he can do anything.
