It's actually been a longer WS drought for the O's.
But they're a division rival and their manager is an asshole so screw them. I hope that drought lasts forever.

The American League will be represented in the World Series by a team that hasn't been there since 1985 (Kansas City) or 1983 (Baltimore).

Totally. I'm a KC kid. Just thought it was interesting. Fuck Buck indeed.
Agreed.

KC is the only team left that wouldn't annoy me in some way if they won it all. They're a great story and aside from Yost's criminal stupidity, there isn't much to hate about them.

You know, all season long I never did quite figure out how the Angels won so many games.  Such mediocre pitching, and it finally got exposed.
they led the majors in runs scored. The (regular season) MVP didn't hurt of course

They played Texas and Houston a combined 39 times.

It helps when you have the Rangers and Astros in your division.

Unquestionably...but they also had to play the Mariners and A's. Overall they had the 13th toughest schedule in MLB this season. Not exactly a bear, but not a cakewalk either. This wasn't some historically bad division or anything.

I dunno, the As were in borderline free-fall the second half

I loved the predictable "about to cry look" on Sciosia's face at the end of the game.

I'll like it even better on Buck Showalter.

Go Royals!

Right. Go Royals, and if you get there, a little disrespect in the clinching game will remind Buck that payback always comes.

That [BAL-DET] was the most intense sweep I've ever seen.  Nail-biter into the 8th blown open late, huge 8th inning rally, pitcher's duel with late rally by losing team.  Nice baseball.

The nearest competition I can think of for it was BOS-CWS in 2005, sadly.  I was at Fenway for game 3, and I was absolutely certain we were going to finish the rally to tie it up, right up until Renteria hit that last grounder.  Bobby Jenks just looked like he was waiting to melt down.  One more baserunner would have brought up Papi!  Sigh.
