Good.

I've grown to dislike this ownership group intensely and it's interfered with my love of the team. This is a step in the right direction, even though it's tainted because Cora is still damaged goods no matter how much I like him otherwise.

Fuld as bench coach and let’s go.
Would this really work? Unless it's 100% Cora's idea to bring Fuld in, instead of bringing back Roenicke or someone else of Cora's choosing, I would think the dynamic of "he was their back up choice" would cause some friction.

This is the greatest news dump of all time.

I wonder how long they have been sitting on this news waiting to release it.

Most expected this, and this was probably the best case scenario. We know Cora is good. We know the players love him. We know he can handle Boston.

Fuld seemed like a nice alternative and a fresh start, but hard to make a serious argument against AC here.

Certainly hope that Bloom is truly fully on board and not just bowing to the pressure of literally everybody else. But the reasons everyone else wanted Cora back are also reasons that Bloom should be on board.

Was also rooting for Fuld, but whatever let's go! Happy for Devers.

This is a hilariously timed news dump. Just epic. I love it.

This is a great move IMO. Players love him, and he served his suspension for whatever his involvement was with the Astros, so I really do not care about that BS at all.

I fully support this move. If you have a managerial candidate that you know can handle the Boston pressure-cooker, keep him.

So far I've gotten texts from two friends about bringing Cora back: a Cardinals fan and a Yankees fan. Both are giving me crap about the hiring, so I know it was the right move!

It could be that they convinced Fuld he needed more experience and seasoning, and maybe be ready for a managing position after even one season in Boston. Not a terrible bench to be sitting on if baseball looks and feels more like actual baseball next year. And it's not prohibitive as a lateral or backwards move if next season is as goofy as 2020 with regards to Covid and scheduling. He still gets the experience and benefit of the doubt.

Color me disappointed. I've been a fan of the Sox since the late '60s and will continue to cheer for the laundry, but am not thrilled with having Cora back primarily due to the baggage he carries. Despite what's coming out from the media, I do wonder about how much pressure Bloom was under from ownership on this and what that means down the road.

I was more thinking about it from Cora's perspective...possibly looking over his shoulder because his potential replacement is right next to him.
