AppleTV - Disney Channels not working

So I've cut the cord on cable again and usually it's not an issue, but with the small kids the disney junior channel is kinda nice to use on the AppleTV.
Problem is the cox account I am logging in with works fine on the regular disney channel but not DisneyXD or DisneyJr. I'm assuming it's because the cox subscriber I'm borrowing from doesn't get those channels, but I'm not sure.

Anyone else have an issue like this?

Same problem here using a Comcast account. The problem started every time I launched it I had to re-certify the subscription code, then would play fine. But now it won't even play anything.

Happens to us sometimes. Usually we either restart the apple tv or just wait a couple hours and they comeback online.

That's what she said.
How long until the television providers begin to step up their authentication game? Seems like half the users, myself included, who have cut the cord use their friends passwords to log into streaming services. I haven't cut the cord, but I share PWs with a friend who has a different provider for the streaming services which my provider doesn't have access too, and him vice versa.

It's also troubling that not all major content providers can be accessed on all major streaming devices using all major ISPs. It ludicrous that you can subscribe to HBO via Comcast but can't use HBOGO on a PS3 to access it via your Comcast account (same issue on Roku for a while I think). Similar hangups with various channels via Time Warner Cable using streaming devices like AppleTV and Amazon Fire TV.

Yeah I would bet it's that they don't get a cable package that includes those channels (XD and Jr). Especially if you can log into Disney Channel with no problems. However, I think the AppleTV app usually tells you this is the case.

Have you tried watching the Disney Channels on a computer or another iOS device using the same login credentials?  This may isolate whether the issue is the Cox account or your AppleTV.  About once every 2 weeks, I have to goto the Settings page of the Disney Jr. app on the Apple TV, logout, and re-authenticate with a new activation code.  When I have to do this, there is no error message or indication that something is wrong.  It just hangs with a spinning wheel when I choose something to watch.
