We should have traded X. Every time we trade a high quality SS, good things happen.inter tatters said:Jeebus, our old friend Jose Iglesias is back then? 4-4, 1 2b, 1 walk and 3 runs.

The #Tigers announce that closer Joe Nathan goes to the DL with flexor strain.
Looks like there were only 4 shutouts from Sunday-Tuesday Opening Week last year.Morgan's Magic Snowplow said:By my count, 9 out of 24 MLB games so far have been shutouts. Yikes.
The weather at Wrigley today would've resulted in a low scoring environment for an NFL game. I've been home almost half an hour and my hands are still numb.By my count, 9 out of 24 MLB games so far have been shutouts. Yikes.
So I guess he finally got his power stroke back.LesterFan said:AGon just hit his 3rd of the night, 5th of the season. Unreal.

He really has such a beautiful picture perfect swing. Wish it had worked out with Boston, but yeah we won it all without him anyway.soxhop411 said:Mark Saxon @markasaxon 2m2 minutes ago
Adrian Gonzalez started off hot last year, too, Had five home runs in team's first 13 games.
Kind of spoiled what I was hoping would be a great pitching duel. Harvey looks great so far, hitting 97, has 5 Ks.jon abbey said:Mets blooping their way to a 4 run third against Strasburg, big error from Desmond also.

Where do we find the longest MLB streak without scoring?
According to STATS, the Marlins' 37-inning drought is the longest in the majors since 1985, when the Astros went 42 innings without a run. Their streak ran from the third inning of a July 13 game against the Mets through three full games (one against the Mets, two against the Expos, with the break intervening) before finally ending in the ninth inning of a July 20 game against the Expos.
Most successful re-tooling of a swing ever?soxhop411 said:JD Martinez destroyed a ball
Could well be. And from what I've read it seems he did it all himself which is even more remarkable (and a bit of an indictment on the Astros hitting coaches I suppose).Cellar-Door said:Most successful re-tooling of a swing ever?
They have 4 starting pitchers on the DL right now, so they're scrambling like crazy. Also, they're playing NL rules this weekend, so I think the idea is if you don't have any actual MLB-quality starters available, then use guys no more than one time thru the line-up and pinch hit for the pitcher every time. Maybe that is hare-brained, but they're pretty much hosed no matter what they do at the moment. .Soxfan in Fla said:The Rays are starting reliever Steve Geltz, in the 4th game of the season. Seems as if the hair brained ideas weren't all Maddon's.
