So Clemson looks like a L, FSU looks like a W, 2 others are toss-ups. I see a L @ Va Tech and a W v. Syracuse with a healthy Dillon in the cold.

If they somehow manage to go 9-3, and beat either Va Tech or Clemson, I think Daz stays. Not sure we want that.
If Daz can beat Clemson, he can have a 5 year contract extension. This will be a very telling stretch. You'll never get VTech/FSU as down as they are this year again. Have to beat at least one of them. Clemson will be a slaughter. And then you have to beat Cuse at home to end it.

8-4 would be a little disappointing but would still be improvement. 9-3 would be very good season.

No, Daz should not be extended under any circumstances. He will not get to 9 wins so let's stop that pipe dream dead in its tracks. He is at 6 wins. The only win that looks even remotely close to a gimme is FSU and that one is a road game. Clemson....no way. Vtech and Syracuse are toss ups. Could win them, could lose them. So let's say they split the toss ups and beat FSU...8-4 is the record. And, if they are 7-4 coming into the Cuse game and a trip to El Paso or Orlando is on the line, do we really think it's a layup that Daz outcoaches Babers, assuming the Cuse is in the same boat and looking at a Tier I bowl bid? ....I don't.

Here's the issue though; BC has to make a move on Daz in the next 8 weeks. If they extend him, they are hitching the future of the program, while trying to raise $150M, to his wagon. If they do nothing, the recruiting gets that much tougher as his peers will point to the lack of support from administration. If he loses assistants this offseason, he will have trouble replacing them as no one wants to work for a lame duck who will get shown the door after next season if they go say 7-5 again. If they let him go after the regular season (assuming they lay an egg in November and go 0-4 or 1-3) his staff will disappear and we are in a new regime again, albeit with a better talent pool than we had in 2013.

Lots of things will go into this decision. Because of the capital campaign and Daz's reputation as a mediocre (career .500) coach, I doubt he gets extended. I'm thinking he is "encouraged" to seek other opportunities at the end of the year and BC gets a 40 something young phenom who is either a pro assistant, a G5 HC or a coordinator on a high end P5 staff.

They are getting steamrolled on the line of scrimmage. This could get ugly.

F yes.

VT QB hurt, put backup in, bad snap, fumble, BC picks up with 11 seconds in thehalf. Let's go AB

Edit: another overthrow

Edit: AB is no Hail Flutie. Half, down 14-7.

I think AB is still working his way back from last year’s injury. He is a serviceable QB but he is NOT a QB that anyone fears. Respect? Yes. Fear? Nope.

Fellas, is it me or do they seem to get intimidated by their environment?? When they are in “big game” road situations, they seem to come up pretty short almost always. By the time they wake up and pull their act together, it’s usually too late.

Brown missed some huge throws in the 1st half. If he continues that into the second half, I say you give EJ Perry a shot to bring them back if it comes to that. BC has open receivers, just need someone who can hit them, especially with the way VT is selling out to stop Dillon (who had 37 yards on his last 12 carries in the 1st half).

Uggh, on their first possession of the 2nd half, BC goes 3 and out on 3 runs (after getting 8 yards on 1st down from Brown on a zone read), but they get a gift running into the kicker call for a first down. They call a passing play on the ensuing play, and it's a nice slant to the back, Levy, for 21 yards. Dillon doesn't come back on the field, they stick with Levy, and on 3rd and 6, they call a zone read and AB and Levy kind of mess up the handoff/fake and fumble it away. VT starts on BC's side of the field. Some interesting offensive decisions right now.

I really believe if they just drop back and throw the ball, they can beat this defense. VT has 8 men in the box, at least, on almost every play to stop the run. Smith is getting open at will, throw it.

There you go, beautiful play action pass, then Dillon gets a 12 yard run around end, and a quick draw to Levy and he breaks it. Tie game.

I like Brown a lot but he has been a disaster for the most part today. Luckily the defense kept it a one score game and bailed him out so far.

BC gets a pick, and then 2 plays later, play action pass to the wide open tight end over the middle for a touchdown. Keep throwing boys. It's there all day.

After a huge fourth down stop at midfield, BC drives it down the Hokies throat and scores another Levy touchdown. 27-14 with the EP pending.

Wow, that's a bullshit personal foul against BC. Willis was tip toeing up the sideline for more yards, and the BC player pushed him out and they threw a flag.

Come on Daz, they aren't going throw the ball unless you put them in third a long, with the 3rd string QB in there. Stack the box.

Wow, horrible series by the defense there. They basically ran a 3 play playbook all the way down the field, then they finally call a passing play, which is underthrown and the receiver just takes it away from the BC defensive back.

28-21 with about 5 minutes left. Can BC run out the clock?

UMASS wide receiver, Andy Isabella, who came into the game was one of the leading receivers in the FBS (maybe the leading) with over 1,100 yards receiving, has 9 catches for 303 yards and 2td's today. Still a bunch of time left in the 4th, and UMASS is down 45-38 against Liberty.

Have we seen Dillon since he got hit on the sideline, and slammed into a cameraman? Concussion? I have company over, so I'm basically watching the game with no sound.

announcers speculated head injury because he was on the sideline without his helmet, but there hasn't been any word

Yeah, when he got hit on the sideline, he came down into the legs of a few people on the sideline, and looked like the back of his head hit someone's knee. He was down for a minute on the sideline after the play, but the very next play, was the one that Levy broke for a TD, so they didn't really come back to the injury after that.

HUGE field goal for BC to make it a 10 point lead with 2:31 left.

Huge, and field goal are not words we've seen together for BC in a long time.

A win today would set up the biggest game BC football has played since the 2008 acc title game

9 yards on 1st and 2nd down, despite everyone in the stadium knowing the run was coming. RB just picked the wrong hole on 3rd down — the opening was there.

Nice kick. 10 point lead. No timeouts for VT. Bend, don’t break.

Going in and winning at Lane stadium is never easy, really nice win.

That crowd better be insane next week, because while Clemson is ridiculous, they can be beat. That said, it would take a perfect game across the board, and forcing a few turnovers.

LOL, I think Willis' concussion reared it's head there. On 4th and 20, he ran for about 15 yards, and then slid down, and now BC is in the victory formation. What a great win.

Why would you assume that? The whole reason he’s eligible to transfer without sitting out a year is because he’s going to receive his bachelor’s degree in December.
Because the degree is from Alabama.
