Up to 28 in the AP poll, and 31 in the coaches. Holy Cross is a joke, but if they beat Wake in two weeks they probably crack the top 25 for the first time in too long.
Blowing out the Zoo gets you votes in the polls?

This is a stupid game. The starting MLB for the Cross is playing special teams and gets blown up on the kickoff. BC is scoring at will.

Who in their right mind thinks this is a “good for New England game”? Oh ya, Dazzler.

He would rather play UMass and Holy Cross than go out and challenge national opponents. At least play an FCS opponent that gives out a full complement of scholarships. This is NOT a rivalry anymore. There is a reason they don’t play each other in football until Bates set up this shitstorm.

I hope MJ has the presence of mind to pay HC to walk away from the game in 2 years. This does not excite the fan base. It sets the program back actually. Enough!

So, umm, yeah. AJ Dillon has 6 carries for 149 yards and 3td's. He probably could have gone for 500 today. Nice to see the Andover kid, EJ Perry, get some action and throw his first td. He's a good ballplayer. Father has been the coach in Andover for about 10 years, and his uncles are the wide receivers coach for the Texans, and head football coach at Bryant, I believe. Football is in the blood.

Two words: Bowl Eligibility. Getting enough wins to get a bowl game is good for job security.

I think this game was good. The problem is we also play UMass and Temple in the same year.Play one and only one of these games and it's fine.

They don't give full scholarships? Great; it's a liberal arts school with 2900 students.

This was the best tailgate in about 3-4 years, the Crusaders came out in force and were nice. Like really nice, cool, people, with a sense of humor, happy to be there, etc.

The problem with the game was not the opponent, but our kick protect unit.

This was bad but the schedule has set up nicely. Wake should tell us where the team is and a comfortable win should be the result. Then Purdue on the road should challenge the team a bit. Next comes Temple as a pseudo break.

Then the real season starts and they should be primed to go.

Disagree with playing the crusaders. We can agree to disagree. But the reality is that BC has played no one yet. They beat UMass, who lost yesterday to Georgia Southern by 21. They beat HC who also lost to Colgate. Their OOC schedule is real weak as Purdue is winless ( losses to Northwestern and E. Michigan) as is Temple( losing to Villanova and Buffalo) . They won’t be cracking the Top 25 till October, IMHO.

Short week and Wake is beatable (as is every team on their schedule through the Temple game). Special teams are a weakness and I don’t just mean the third stringers who played yesterday. They had some issues yesterday with the first team as well as against UMass. That will be exposed against good teams.

We are in week 2 and other than Bama and maybe Georgia, no one (including Clemson) seems unbeatable. Could be a great year or a meh season. It all starts Thursday night. We’ll see.

Yes, HC gives full scholarships. They did not until 5 years ago and miscalculated how far behind they and their Patriot League brethren are in terms of the real college football world, even at the FCS level. These guarantee games should have been scheduled starting in the 2020s, not 2018; not that they will even come close in most of them.
Score should have been about 84-7 (I figure 56-0 at the half was about what it should have been, instead of 35-0). Fortunately for HC, BC is playing Wake this Thursday and it was in the best interests of Dillon and Brown to get them out of there fast.
One oddity: how many games do you see TWO punts blocked and run back for TDs? Of course with Dillon BC ain't plannin' on punting very much.

These next 2 weeks will tell us all we need to know about the 2018 team. A team that has truly turned the corner wins both of these games. The short week isn't that problematic given that the starters played like 5 seconds on Saturday. What I'm more concerned about is how they perform against non-JV opponents. Wake and Purdue aren't world beaters but they're certainly talented enough to beat us if we don't play well.

I still don't trust Daz.

If they are gong to play the game this week, it really can't be pushed back into the weekend as the cleanup will be horrendous and most likely team could not fly in on Thursday or Friday. Flying in Wednesday and riding out the storm makes no sense forma safety perspective. They should push it back to the end of the season on a Thursday if they can find some date that works. If the storm is going to hit Thursday night late, maybe they should play the game on Thursday at Noon and get out of there by 4PM. No good alternatives I'm afraid.

When a program like BC travels, do they charter planes; therefore, they can get out of there at 10 or 11 PM? From what I can gather, they should be ok.

Brown is also not a good passer. Maybe we’re just spoiled with Brady but he almost missed the two TD passes to wide open guys and has thrown so many passes to wrong shoulders leading WRs to bad places. Luckily Wake sucks.

Good news, he doesn't have to be good when guys are wide open by 5-10 yards on bombs off play action every other drive because of Dillon, just serviceable enough.

Next 5 games are very winnable. We obviously won’t win them all but 4-1 is do-able. We’ll then lose all 3 of the Tech, Clemson, FSU gauntlet. And then we need to paste Syracuse at home. 8-4 sounds about right to me.

I think they can be 7-0 going into Miami. I also think that they can beat FSU on the road. Clemson will be tough, but it will be at home and could be the ABC night game if Clemson is undefeated and say BC is 8-1. Night games at BC can be interesting.

Yeah FSU is just abysmal this year. I am sure they will improve some, but it is a complete mess in Tallahassee.

Imagine how good BC would be with better special teams and in-game coaching...
Amen to that. On top of the punting debacles, I thought for sure the missed XP was going to haunt them.
As for the offense, Brown is far from perfect, but way better than what we've gotten from QB the past few years. Would love to see them throw a screen pass to Dillon every once in a while . . .

If the other teams play the run as much as WF did, Brown will be just fine. Takes exceptional talent in the defensive backfield to stay with everyone 1 on 1.

And we actually have some real athletes at WR for a change.

When Daz gets the hell out of the way and they're not stupid level predictable on offense, he's built the talent to be a very good team. God do I wish they would give him the Dabo Swinney treatment. Like literally his headset should have elevator music in it during games. He's roster built very well but his feel for in game management is so freaking bad....

Yup. It’ll never change. Too bad because Brown/Dillon is about as good of a QB/RB combo that we could ever expect to have.

Don’t look now boys but Syracuse, yup Syracuse, is 3-0 after manhandling FSU today. This season is becoming very interesting. That game on Thanksgiving weekend just might have a hell of a lot riding on it....for both teams. Great to see the turnaround at both places. Unfortunately we have to contend with Clemson, but the rest of the division as well as the conference is wide wide open.
