Can we take the political BS elsewhere? This isn't the thread to discuss which anti-liberal scarewords bother you.Should be an auto temp ban for using it. Same for cuck, safe space, and snowflake.

I'm not in the Boston area, but I have heard nothing about this outside of SoSH.Is the media really up in arms about Verdugo's incident, or is it SOSH that's worked up? I haven't heard a single Red Sox fan friend mention it in the real world. Nor have I seen anything about it in the few media pieces I've read so far.
Seconded ... this is the thread to discuss ... wait, what the hell are we discussing in here again? This isn't the thread to discuss which anti-liberal scarewords bother you.
I believe the Red Sox recently missed the deadline to offer Carlton Fisk a new contract.Seconded ... this is the thread to discuss ... wait, what the hell are we discussing in here again?
Apparently, virtue signaling.Seconded ... this is the thread to discuss ... wait, what the hell are we discussing in here again?
Something about a potential trade being disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.Seconded ... this is the thread to discuss ... wait, what the hell are we discussing in here again?
You're right, that was a lapse on my part, and I removed the post. You should perhaps go to the Verdugo thread. If you have and you are accusing other SOSH members of “virtue signaling,” you should post it there so that we can respond. If you are referring to a discussion you read elsewhere, you should probably make that clear. “More“ is a bit ambiguous.
Sox should've tried to get a catcher, they wear masks.Something about a potential trade being disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.
Wait, I thought we were discussing how much better coronavirus is with Lyme disease.Something about a potential trade being disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.
Well it also makes the Price part of the deal trickier because the Dodgers still have MaedaWell now the Red Sox have a lot of leverage. LA has to dig into their prospect pool to get this done.
That one was always contingent on this, so possibly?Does this impact the LAD and LAA trade?
May have to take Pollack back or even Maeda?Well it also makes the Price part of the deal trickier because the Dodgers still have Maeda
why is an outfielder with 3 WAR/162 game pace in his rookie year, with 5 years of control, not the centerpieceVerdugo was never the centerpiece. That's delusional. This deal is dead.
According to Cot's, Pollack is at $18mil this year and $13 in '21 with a $5mil buyout in '22.May have to take Pollack back or even Maeda?
Hope the Twins pull-out kills the deal.Good for the Twinkies. Puts the pressure on LA and BOS to reach a deal quickly.
The centerpiece of this trade was dumping salary and gaining finacial flexibility.why is an outfielder with 3 WAR/162 game pace in his rookie year, with 5 years of control, not the centerpiece
From the Twins’ perspective they were giving fair value for an end of the rotation starter who was likely to cost them around $10 million if he performed up to expectations. It was definitely LA’s problem to bridge the gap.Well now the Red Sox have a lot of leverage. LA has to dig into their prospect pool to get this done.
Why, you should haveChanged the thread title and resisted using the phrase 'Winter of Waffling'.
I mean taking back Pollack instead of including cash seemed more logical to me. He’s probably best as a fourth OF these days, but if taking him back added Downs & Gray, it’s worth it.May have to take Pollack back or even Maeda?
The phrase is perfectChanged the thread title and resisted using the phrase 'Winter of Waffling'.
That's great, but that's not how this will play out. Everyone on the team making more than $5mm will be on the block immediately, every player will be asked about this every day, and the team is likely to go into fire sale mode upon the first losing streak.Hope the Twins pull-out kills the deal.
I’d rather keep Betts for a year and overpay Price rather than have Verdugo plus anyone the Dodgers might add. Screw the luxury tax. They’re the 3rd-richest team in baseball. Suck it up, play Mookie in 2020 and resign him as a free agent for whatever he’s asking.
It's a great phrase but it feels like it should be connected to a more overarching thread. The phrase is perfect
This does have a GoT feel to it. Spring is coming...Are you not entertained?? This is some great drama. Better than actually watching the games.
Admittedly I have stopped caring almost entirely about other sports, but the whole offseason has been awesome, like one long trade deadline where I am refreshing Twitter 24/7.Are you not entertained?? This is some great drama. Better than actually watching the games.
