NFL Security is on it
The NFL is investigating a report of a laser beam flashed in Tom Brady’s face during crunch time of Sunday night’s thrilling AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium.

The green-tinted dot flickered menacingly off Brady’s upper body and face multiple times in the pivotal fourth quarter, video clips tweeted by a reporter from KMBC show.

Brian McCarthy, NFL vice president of communications, told the Herald the league is “looking into the report of the laser beam” and NFL security is taking the lead.

Are we sure those are laser beams flashed at him...?

I think those were some flashing LED lights of the terminator Brady they replaced the human Brady with 5-10 years ago that were flickering through his jersey and skin.

If this bothers you, I hope you never watch the US soccer team take on Mexico at Azteca.

They should bother everyone.
Just because fans do it in other sports does not make mean it should be acceptable.

For one, they can be dangerous and can damage eyesight before a person can even blink.
Second, imo, they really go against sportsmanship and not something I want affecting a game.

FIFA has been banned them

Would a laser project that wide of a beam, even at great distance? Sosh Scientists?

Also - what am I missing on that 2nd clip. Can someone provide a time stamp?

(I'm very demanding today)

Yeah, I'm not sure why it's ok just because it's done in other sports. Should we just allow it in all sports then?

Nothing will come of this, by the way.

Not a scientist, but I’ve used military grade lasers that can project a wide beam at distance.

Yes. But for those who haven’t played with lasers, let’s ask ourselves the reverse: Would any spotlight project a beam that narrow at that distance? Of course not. It’s a laser.

It’s also green and has the tell-tale movement of someone trying to keep a laser pointer steady by hand.

Just more green laser but briefer. Watch Brady’s right shoulder (his right, not yours).

The answer to your first question is yes.
To name one.
That light could also be tinted green and if, hand-held and at that distance, it would jiggle in exactly the same way.

I just knew some nerd was going to prove me wrong on that one ;)

But let’s be honest, which do you think it is? A ubiquitous laser pointer or an EDM nightclub spotlight?

Edit: If I’m looking at the specs correctly, the lens is starting out at 7.28 inches. Id think you’re getting a much larger spot on Brady from any distance within the stadium but not in the field of play.

Is there a corporate sponsor box in that end zone for some big lighting company?

But seriously, I didn't for one second think it was anything but a laser, but it's a rare opportunity for me to use my expert work skills on a problem on SOSH somewhere other than TBLTS.
