Yasiel Puig catches a pop fly with his hat. Half of baseball loves the joy with which he plays the game, the other half decries his lack of respect for the game.

The umpire reminds him that's not an out.

And another half just thinks he is incredibly stupid.

Logan Forsythe becomes Ben Zobrist 2.0, due in no small part to a Child's Play style soul transference performed by Joe Madden right before the start of the season. So that might actually make him Zobrist 1.5, I'm not sure how that works.

In the past 10 seasons, only one time has a catcher driven in 100 runs (Buster Posey in 2012). Wilson Ramos joins that club this year.

This may end up being one hell of a jinx.  Well done.

More specifically, that the runner is entitled to 3 bases as a result of him doing that.

The Mariners will make the playoffs. I know it's early, but I think they have legitimate reasons to be excited about Abraham Almonte, Brad Miller, Justin Smoak, Dustin Ackley, Taijuan Walker (if he's healthy) and Erasmo Ramirez.

Erasmo looked *awesome* against LAAA last night.

More, more specifically that the ball is alive and in play and the batter can try to scamper home while Puig argues in disbelief.

The Astros will not finish with the worst record in baseball.

This is a solid choice.  I see them finishing with a better record than the Phillies.  Maybe the Twins, too.

The Rangers are a mess and win ~75 games.

The Nationals win the World Series.

Cano hits 30 HR in Seattle and the Mariners contend with the Royals for the 2nd Wild Card.

The Yankees acquire Cliff Lee at the trade deadline and still fail to make the playoffs.

Middlebrooks leads the Red Sox in home runs.
Not bad! ... Except for the Middlebrooks and Cano things...

The Dodgers will miss the playoffs.

The Cubs will contend for a WC.

Jeter will win the MVP.

I'm not very good at this.  Although the MVP vote isn't in yet so I still have a shot with #3.

Funny, I just posted my bold predictions yesterday here http://rsnalberta.blogspot.ca/2014/03/2014-mlb-predictions.html

Many of the same as you guys, a few different ones.  I'm not sure the Tigers or Dodgers are shoe-ins to win their divisions. I see Miam, KC, Milwaukee being good... Washington / Harper /Stras being great. Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta to miss playoffs.
I had some absolutely awful predictions there.  You'll have to click on the link to see them.
But I had some pretty darn good ones too.  Among the better ones:
AL East:  won't have any wildcard teams. (they didn't)
Tampa Bay - could even drop all the way to 4th place (ended in 4th)
Toronto- I bet they wish they still had Henderson Alvarez (an all-star pitcher)
AL Central: There will be a pennant race into late September. Tigers will not be assured of a playoff spot.

Detroit - Will struggle to win 90.  (were at 89 heading into last day of season)
Kansas City - PLAYOFFS! Maybe even a division title. (yep, and had a shot entering last day of season)

Minnesota  - The Yankees will be wishing they still had Phil Hughes. (Vidal Nuno and Chase Whitley started 26 games in pinstripes)
Houston - Won't be the worst team in the league the 2nd half. 70 wins within reach. (an even 70)

Oakland - Hard to believe this they are back-to-back reigning division champions. Won't 3-peat, but may get the 2nd wildcard spot. (barely got that 2nd wildcard spot)

NL East -Washington will run away with this division with very little competition. (won by 17 games)
Atlanta - Sorry peach state, no playoffs for you. (not even a .500 record)
Miami - Will battle Atlanta for a meaningless 2nd place in this division.  (2 games behind Atlanta for 2nd)
Washington - Only 100 win team in majors. (not quite, but had 2nd best record in MLB)

NL Central- Cincinnati and Milwaukee will remind St. Louis that there are still some competitive teams in this division.(well, Milwaukee certainly did)

Chicago - Jeff Samardzija will be very good. Last place. Again. Not really going out on a limb here. (I really didn't)
Milwaukee - Along with Miami, among most improved teams in baseball. Will contend for a wildcard spot. (until last couple of weeks)

San Francisco - A good old Giants/Dodgers rivalry will be rekindled. Giants will contend for a playoff spot, may even overtake LA if they stumble. (made it close)

Like I said, all my predictions weren't as good as the above ones, and some were downright awful (Texas winning West, Reds going far in playoffs and more entertaingly bad ones)

Albert Pujols will win the MVP while being absolutely smoked in WAR by Trout (yeah, yeah... second part isn't meant to be bold).

Cano hits .250 with only 15 home runs and talk of "The worst signing of the entire winter" hits Seattle talk radio.
Got the Angels and 1/3 of my Cano prediction right. I also got the gimme portion of my Pujols prediction. And he had a very solid season. Yay?

I predicted Kluber would win the AL Cy Young Award and the Mariners would make the playoffs. Surprisingly close!
