What’s the record for touches in the box with only 1 shot on target?

I think that's three times now Mane's had the ball at or near the 6 yard box, and decided to spray a ball back across the crowded area instead of going for goal.

2 points in 3 festive period matches against WBA, Newcastle, and Southampton - while having arguably the least congested fixture list during the period - is not gonna cut it.

Few teams know how to desperately pummel an opponents box late like Liverpool. I used think it was a shit ton of luck but my god every time you guys are in this situation it’s just wave after wave of attack

Ralph collapses in joy or relief at the whistle. Great defending from his guys.

Can't fault the effort. Just wasn't their day. Credit to Southampton for working hard.
Ralph deserves a ton of credit. After that 9-0 beating by Leicester he was on the hot seat but he’s turned this side into a very tough out.

Hassenhuttl is a really good manager. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an opportunity at a bigger club than Southampton soon.

Cheers to you on getting the last name down.

Folks on twitter saying his wife recently tested positive for COVID, have to imagine he had a lot running through his mind when he fell to his knees as the match ended.

Klopp: "What Andre Marriner did with Sadio Mane tonight, I'm not sure that's okay. Man United had more penalties in two years than me in five and a half years.... but no excuses for tonight."

Given who Liverpool play next in the league, wouldn't that be Fergie-style mind games and planting some seeds with the ref?

With the table so tightly bunched, a few results one way or the other can lead to wild swings in narrative. Wasn't it only a few weeks ago that OGS was on the verge of getting sacked?

He probably still would be if Poch hadn't just joined PSG. Speaking of which, that contract has a term of 18 months. Seems quite peculiar, although it's not clear whether Poch, PSG, or both wanted that unusual contract length. Nevertheless, OGS likely gets another season if he finishes top 4.

I would love Tuchel at Barca, but think it's unlikely. Any guesses where he may end up?

Sniffing the top of the table? What? On here a few weeks ago it was laughable that ESPN suggested they were contenders...
This is a bad thing to type on derby day but United have rode a wave of ridiculous bullshit to an inflated table position. I know you guys have watched a ridiculous amount of awful football so I’m sure this looks a lot better but I earnestly have 0% concern that United will be the last team standing. I may be spectacularly wrong and live to eat these words but I think the entire United fan base is way out over its skis.

In regards to Pochettino, isn’t it just as likely that PSG is just tired of paying managers they’ve fired and MP took the risk?

Regardless whether they've rode a waive of bullshit or not, they're contenders. But so are about 5 other teams. Make no mistake. I don't think we're gonna be there either and would be thrilled with finishing in the top 4.

But to LOLZ EsPn ThInKs ThEyLl WiN! is a little ridiculous.

No idea what watching awful football has to do with anything. This is the most enjoyable way they've played since Ferguson retired.

But God Forbid we're happy at having a chance to be top of the table and think our team is good...

Ruben Dias the heir apparent to Kompany? He looked excellent today.

and before you harp on today’s result as proof for your views on United, there are no semi finals in the Premier League so there.

What I was laughing about was ESPN saying that beating Sheffield United meant they were title contenders. A team that had 1 point for the season at the time.

Cup ties and especially derby cup ties prove very little either way. Dias has been a revelation though, this City team is a lot more like Mancinis City than Peps and it’s largely because Dias has been so good he even resurrected Stones career

You could be doing a lot worse things with your time than watching Union Berlin and Wolfsburg (5th & 6th in the Bundesliga) on ESPN+. Coming towards halftime at 1-1, but end to end action.
