In the simulacrum
This story would be way more interesting if the move was to force his way back to the Patriots. As it is, it just seems sort of tacky. And it seems to confirm Arians' quip about some people wanting to always see their names in the media.

Not to gloat or anything (Ok, definitely gloating), but I nailed this one. I knew the dude was too competitive to stay off the field, he just needed some time after that incredibly baffling playcalling by BA at the end of the playoff loss LOL

:p

Glad he's back though! Disappointed he still has to play for BA though, never really liked BA.

Psh. I called it a month before you did.

He literally just addressed this the other day. I'm paraphrasing, but he basically said, "I know I said I'll retire when I suck. To clarify, I meant I'll retire when I can't lead a team to victories."

He then went on about how he's having fun playing and his team is winning.

Dude aint retiring.

Spoke with a Bills fan yesterday. He was distraught at TB's return, kind of like he was one of the fringe cast members in a horror film where the maniac just won't die. And also, sad that the Gronk window slammed shut.

TB, still doing damage to AFC East fans three years after becoming a more perfect version of Florida Man
I don't get this at all from the standpoint of a Bills fan. Why does he care what Tom Brady or Tampa Bay does? It's completely irrelevant unless they happen to meet in the Super Bowl, which is obviously unlikely.

Because the Bills were rumored to have had a chance at landing Gronk and the friend is afraid that Gronk will now instead reunite with Brady. Also, Brady reminds him of many years of horrors and just wants him to go away so he can forget about him. But “distraught” seems a bit extreme, you’re right.

Yes, both of these, especially #2. PTSD runs deep with this crew, and with some reason...it was news when their starting QB (on a playoff team) finally passed Brady for wins in Buffalo,

QB wins: Josh Allen passed Tom Brady for most wins in Orchard Park since 2000

"
Let’s start this article off by definitively saying that wins aren’t a QB stat, they are a team stat. But for years, Tom Brady was the winningest quarterback at the Buffalo Bills’ stadium. His New England Patriots won 16 games at Ralph Wilson Stadium/New Era Field/Bills Stadium with Brady as the starter.
It took until his third season as Bills QB for Josh Allen to best Brady. While Brady only had one game a year to add to his total, Allen had eight plus playoff games. With 15 regular season wins in his first three years, Allen hadn’t reached the milestone by the end of the 2020 regular season, but with the team’s Wild Card win over the Indianapolis Colts, he tied Brady. After their win over the Baltimore Ravens, he passed the future Hall of Famer with his 17th win.
Ryan Fitzpatrick had 13 wins as a Bills QB plus one as a member of the New York Jets, so he comes in at 14 wins at the stadium. Tyrod Taylor also had 14 wins as the Bills starter in Orchard Park."

Not a fan of the language in that song,
I transcribed the lyrics, don’t really see anything wrong with them:

I was a fool to ever leave your side
Me minus you is such a lonely ride
The breakup we had has made me lonesome and sad
I realize I love you 'cause I want you bad, hey, hey
I spent the evening with the radio
Regret the moment that I let you go
Our quarrel was such a way of learnin' so much
I know now that I love you 'cause I need your touch, hey, hey
Reunited, and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey
I sat here starin' at the same old wall
Came back to life just when I got your call
I wished I could climb right through the telephone line
And give you what you want so you will still be mine, hey, hey
I can't go cheatin', honey, I can't play
I found it very hard to stay away
As we reminisce on precious moments like this
I'm glad we're back together 'cause I missed your kiss, hey, hey
Reunited, and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Baby
Lover, lover, this is solid love
And you're exactly what I'm dreamin' of
All through the day
And all through the night
I'll give you all the love I have with all my might, hey, hey
Reunited, and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey

I think he’s referring to the content. It’s not explicit. It’s that Jules might come out of retirement to become a Buc.

I would be sort of stunned if Jules came out of retirement to play for the Bucs. I mean stranger things have happened, but he was pretty damn adamant that he wanted to be a one team guy, and held that as a source of pride post retirement.

More importantly, by his own account his knee is fucked.

I’d enjoy it if only for the ‘Brady is my second team’ heads that would explode. But yeah, no chance with the getting the band back together moves in Tampa imo.

Well I'll just say this about that Miami rumor. If it were to happen (sounds like no), I'd actively root against Brady from here on out, and I'm as big a Brady guy as you're basically gonna find. It's one thing to leave the Patriots and play for Tampa. I can understand that, support it, and root for him in that situation, no sweat. But if he were to play for MIAMI? No chance. So please Tom, don't do it.

I mean, we'd get 2 more games of BB vs. Brady. Who wouldn't be in favor of that? However, it would be pretty sickening watching Brady celebrate TD passes to that scumbag Tyreek Hill so that is really the only reason why I don't want to see it happen.

The chronology of this wouldn’t make sense. Brady comes out of retirement with some fanfare, then reportedly made some recruiting calls to pending FA (see: Russell Gage), yet now he wants to shoot his way out to Miami? Why not do that by threatening to stay retired if TB didn’t deal him?

Granted, Brady announced his retirement to putatively spend more time with his family only to decide that was, I guess, not as important as he thought about a month later, so who knows?

What would Brady have to gain going to a new team with comparable offensive weapons and a worse defense in a much tougher division and conference? The Bucs are at worst the third best team in the NFC right now.

I think it’s all BS, but Miami offers a comparable competitive situation and then there’s Ross, with whom Brady was rumored to be connected as a potential team executive or even minority% owner until he unretired. It would surprise me but it’s not without some logic.

I don't believe this rumor has any substances, but Gronk does remain unsigned

Good point on Gronk.

Brady has a losing record in Miami so I’m not worried.
Next year free agent Tom takes $50 million from Ross to take over for Tua if he stumbles (or maybe even if he doesn’t)…then takes the token ownership stake when he’s finally ready to retire.

The Dolphins have completely tied their cap up for next offseason. They only have $12m in cap for NEXT offseason, and will have holes to fill. Restructures and cuts may be able to get it close, but it would be a tight squeeze and a top heavy roster.

Sounds like the latest way to win in the NFL since 2021.

The only site I could find a definitive breakdown of their cap was overthecap.com and it had them with 27+ for next year. And that’s without any manipulations.

People can criticize Grier for individual decisions, but he’s been a wizard when it comes to the cap and thinking years ahead. There’s a reason Miami has had ample cap space every season, it’s by design.

And this isn’t a statement for or against Brady, simply a belief thatI don’t think they are in a bad spot, yet.

Sportrac has them at $8.5M, which is lower than they were this morning. I assume it's an adjustment to the new contracts.
