Damn. Rev out to a shocking lead in the “most gruesome injury in the football forum” race.

It was awesomely gruesome. Rev stuck it out the entire time too. Still cannot believe he did that.

I did insist on ice for obvious reasons.

I still regret that none of us actually went out to the alley next to Beantown Pub to get a video of Esasky jumping over Rev.

Yeah, Esasky and Rev were so hush about it. Almost to the point that I think Esasky planned this.

I mean. Rev stuck around with a shattered leg and Esasky took off early. What's that about?

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Superstar couple Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady, who wed in 2009, are going through a difficult period, sources say.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his wife, Bündchen, a fashion model, are dealing with "marital issues," according to a source close to the couple.

The two are currently "living separately," another source close to Bündchen told CNN.

hmm, so the SoSH experts who mocked this information as Page 6 gossip were wrong? Shocking.

Either way, hopefully it works out for Brady/Gisele. Clearly a tough situation to work through, particularly in a semi-Public way.

Nobody knows nothin.

I really don't care one way or the other or have an emotional stake in believing one thing over another, but relationships are complicated. And whatever one "source close to the situation" thinks may be the situation when he or she speaks to a reporter at one moment in time -- even if that's not bullshit -- is about as reliable as thinking the the thing you wrote in the sand at the beach is going to look the same after the next wave.

Seems certain that Tom will finish this year. Then he may retire. Or he may not. And that might affect his relationship with his family. Or it might not.

That whole incident was just just a terrible mashup up of miscommunication, incorrect expectations (Rev apparently thought I was Vince Carter), and a poor environment for the attempt to occur. I don't remember if his knee came down on a brick or manhole cover but either way, it wasn't ideal.

And I bailed because I had a date.

To be fair, it can be correct and still mocked as page 6 gossip.

Admittedly a little click-bait-y/kick him while he's down, but I did sort of enjoy this from Fitzmagic:

"I've told this story before, but he just pisses me off. Because you're in Buffalo, you're playing New England, they're kicking our ass every single year they're beating us. We finally in 2011 knocked them off. It was right at the beginning of the season. We had this great start and he threw five interceptions in the game, which was just wonderful to see every single one of them. Just wonderful to see.

"And (Brady would) run straight off. Like, no handshake, no quarterback middle of the field, no, 'Where are the cameras? OK, hey, stay healthy buddy.' Just ran straight off. So it bothered me so much because there was no respect there. Every time I played him after that, I was like 'All right, let's make this dude respect me.'

"Ended up in New York with the Jets and with Miami beating him. The last one was especially sweet because it was the Tank For Tua year. ... They beat us by 40-something points at the beginning of the season. They needed to beat us to get home-field advantage and it was his last regular-season game as a Patriot, and we go and we score at the end of the game and beat them."

So, Fitzpatrick got his revenge, but did he finally get his handshake?

"Yeah, I think so. I probably initiated it," he said.

TB is one of the best teams in the NFC, quite possibly the best team in the NFC. Your wager has somehow convinced you (incepted you?) the TB offense stinks, like players have never been hurt on teams before in the NFL.

Their team is great on both sides of the ball.
WARNING: Hot Take Alert!!

OL and WR dropping like flies and it’s only Week 2. Tom Brady will have THE worst game of his NFL career today in New Orleans where he’s historically struggled. Cryptic press conference comments followed by his absence from practice until Thursday’s (seriously, nobody reported he was gone for 3 days last week?) will rekindle rumors that he’s retiring again.

That's a terrible photo. If there were people taking photos of all of us every moment we're out in public, absolutely 100% there are going to be some of them that make us look stoned or bored or depressed or whatever.

What's jarring to me is how skinny he looks, as @Petagine in a Bottle pointed out. That's...kind of alarming.

He looks really skinny, doesn’t he? Coming around to the idea that this guy isn’t even human
This is a good point. If you're playing the "if aliens exist among us, who is your best guess to be one of them" game,* John Henry has always been my #1. But Brady may be number 2 with a bullet.

ed * this is only a game in my mind.

ed2 there aren't many posters in the top 10 so don't get paranoid.

That Buffalo game is probably his worst career game--14/28, 123 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs.

I don't wanna see that today...

These were different games. 14-28 was 2003. The Fitz game was 2011 in which Brady also threw 4 TDs.

I thought the thin face was exactly why the author was asking if he was okay. Maybe not though. He’s looked like that in every picture since he came back. Either he had really bad COVID for a month and lost a ton of body fat or he had work done on his face and went too far. It’s a dramatic difference that can no longer be chalked up to camera angle.

News from @gmfb: The #Buccaneers are signing veteran WR Cole Beasley to their practice squad with the expectation he’ll be elevated to the active roster soon, source says. Tom Brady pushed to bring in another veteran pass catcher and has had Beasley on his radar for a while.

This is kind of nutty to me; I know injuries and now Mike Evans suspension are mucking things up, but Brady really does wield a lot of control when it comes to personnel. He already has Evans, Godwin, Julio, Russell Gage, Scottie Miller and Perriman. That's probably the best WR group in the NFL. He would have never had this kind of authority in New England (and they did bring in people at his request at times).

Bucs signing Cole Beasley at Tom’s request.
Not surprising after Brady was visibly upset at some of the route running/reads his receivers were making on Sunday. He named his Head Coach and other WR’s this year so why not name another receiver lol.

Also, I’m beginning to think that Brady might not be the greatest judge of character.

Godwin's injuries are always a killer for Tampa. He really is the straw that stirs the drink in Tampa.

Why is it nutty? Their running game sucks and the OL is completely banged up, they need those receivers in order to get anything going on offense and all of Evans, Godwin, Jones and Gage have been injured to various degrees already. I'd say they lost the Super Bowl last year due to a lack of receiver depth (think they win it with either Godwin or Brown available), don't think Tom is willing to risk it again.

And for all we know, the Bucs were already looking at Beasley when Godwin went down in Week 1 and could simply have sounded out Brady on whether he was good with it ... which the media then spins into Brady being behind the move

I don't see any issue if he's behind the move either. Beasley is a shithead, but not a criminal or anything. If he can give them something as a slot receiver he's more than worth a look with Godwin missing time and Gage not necessarily 100%. The Bucs should be going for broke and exploring every avenue they can to put together the best team possible for 2022, odds are they'll be back to irrelevance very soon. It's not like they're building a long standing winning culture or anything there, everyone is aware what the deal is.

Yup. Brady is probably done after this year. They need to be aggressive with their roster to give him the best possible chance of winning. We all know how valuable a reliable slot WR is to Brady. He seems to be looking for a reliable Amendola type.
