Fuck me sideways. I booked a trip to Orlando for me and the kids last week for Feb 5th to the 9th and just realized the SB is in that window. If anyone can recommend a kid friendly place to watch the game down there PM me please. Or post it here, I don't care either way. FUCK.

Just so I'm clear here, roughly four weeks before the Super Bowl with the Patriots being the #2 seed in the AFC you booked this trip? Not last summer, but last week? Disney world isn't a bad place to watch the game, at least if you're staying in one of the Disney hotels. We were there ten years ago during Super Bowl XL and the hotel had a Super Bowl party. We watched the end of the game there, but the best part was that the park was empty during the game. No lines for anything, it was great. And, if they still have players go to Disney world after the game, someone from the winning team will be in a parade in the Magic Kingdom on Monday.
Unless you know of some way to add hours in a day to the standard 24, I think they're pretty much topped out.

Yes and no. Last year, the Super Bowl was on February 1st.(the earliest it can ever be due to Labor Day being on the 1st of Sept) This year it's the 7th, which is the latest it can be, due to Labor Day being Sept 7th. Still, Costanza could have checked. You know the Super Bowl will be the first week of February.
That said, I've been away for the Super Bowl in previous years and it's kind of awesome.
I think it'd be the sweetest of sweet victories to beat Denver in Denver.
Yet the realistic side of me says the officiating in Denver could be the x-factor. After earlier this year It doesn't come close to passing the smell test, not that it ever did.

Having Big Ben leave it all (right arm included) on the field today in a victory is objectively better for us, but I have a feeling we'll watch this afternoon and have good reason to think the Pats should handle either of these teams.
Is it always on Sunday, though? I think I recall an early Wednesday morning game a few years back.
Seriously though, how is it that there are NFL fans who haven't figured out that the SB is always played on the first Sunday in February?
Especially when your team has been in 6 of them recently. I specifically booked my week in Florida the week before the Super Bowl to kill time before the Pats play.

I don't ever plan anything in January or February without first checking the NFL playoffs schedule. Nor anything in October without checking for mlb playoff conflicts (unless the red sox are already out of contention).

Anyone else waiting to hear about a possible suspension for Amendola for AFC Championship? His hit on that punt was almost as bad as the Burfict hit (helmet to helmet on a player absolutely not expecting to get blown the fuck up), and while he's obviously not a repeat offender, I'm sure the NFL would have no problem making one of the Patriots' better weapons unavailable next weekend.
I was hoping to see Malcolm Butler last year when I went to Disney World in the days after the Super Bowl, but unfortunately it seems that the winner goes to Disneyland when the game is played in the western part of the country. I'd expect that to be the case again this year with the game in Santa Clara. Which will be nice, because Brady will be able to bring his entire family with him.
That makes sense. I saw Hines Ward and Jerome Bettis at Disney World the day after the SB in 2006, but the game was in Detroit that year.
Put a gun to my head, I'll take a home game. But after maybe the most impressive example of BB/staff not only neutralizing but eliminating the opponent's perceived advantage, it really won't matter who we play.
On the field for that. He only showed up on about 3. Really weak game for all the stuff he was supposed to be motivated about.
He left the game with an injury in the middle of the 4th quarter. And I'm guessing his snaps were down before that due to the focus on containing Smith.
I watched a very different game than you did if you think he only showed up for 3. A sack, forced fumble and a few pressures, and a contain gameplay all before his knee injury is very, very different than what you said above.

I don't see how that play is at all comparable to Burfect. He hit him in the shoulder and it's debatable if it was even illegal. It was a hard hit sure but BB and Amendola said today the play was clean and BB teaches them to do it.
I could see a fine, I'm not sure what for, this being the NFL.
Brady only showed up for like 2 throwing TDs too. The fact that he was way off on all of those dropped passes is similar to Jones 'falling' on Smith for the sack. He was supposed to motivated. Guess not.
Silliness. Denver is not the Yankees and the Pats are not the 04 Sox trying to break a "curse."
The two teams both have their strengths, but I'll take a home game at a normal altitude with friendlier refs every time.

Moreover, saying Jones had almost no pressures is completely wrong and does not take into account gameplan as it relates to how the Patriots played pocket contain throughout. Add in the fact that Jones was doubled or chipped at the line at times and we have a very different look at how he played instead of barely showing up.
Jones was in the right spot for a sack. He was, you know, 5 yards in the backfield pressuring Smith. Sure, Nink made a great play too but Jones did record the only sack of the game.
It looks to me, despite Fouts's comments, that Amendolas helmet was pretty much right on the shoulder pad of the other player. If Carey was right in his second comment, that the penalty was for a crack back block, I see no suspension possible.
This was way less than the hit that knocked out Bernard.
Would it be correct to assume that the Divisional Round game schedule is based on seeding, meaning the a 1-seed Pats would have played tonight instead yesterday? Or is there no such method?

They were the one seed last year and played the first game of the divisional round last year also.
Peyton has beaten the Pats the last 2 times the teams have played in the playoffs. Obviously, neither the 2006 or 2013 depleted squads were that good so it would be nice to see a relatively healthy Pats team hand him a painful loss.
I will, of course, be rooting for the Steelers to win today because you always have to root for the home game.
