I'm sure Jim Gray will find him for a fully scripted interview.

Apparently no one has seen him today.

Or Belichick passed down word that everyone should answer that they haven't seen Brady and to not answer any questions about him.

If this isn't enough to unlock the "Who starts at QB" thread, then I don't know what the trolls are going to eat.

Still trying to upload "TB TIMES" to Facebook after loss yesterday. Heard it was an issue with his ram.

Only a quick wave? Sounds like his arm strength isn't where it needs to be quite yet. Jimmy will probably start on Sunday.

Brady still has to even out a few tan lines. Those photographers took him off the deck last week. Give him a couple of days.

I hope he was just stuck in line at Wal Mart buying a big can of whoop-ass or tied up at the leather smith's picking up his custom-made Bad Motherfucker wallet.

Media note: Present plan is for Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski to take the place of the traditional QB news conference on Wednesday (11:45 a.m.)
They have a roster exemption on him until Monday I believe. He will obviously be added before that but how can a guy who hasn't been added to the roster do a press conference?
Every other coach would probably have him do it but not Bill. :)

That's a good point.

Rumors on NFL.com that Gronk's injury isn't progressing from "a source close to Gronk" so maybe we'll have another audible here.

I've never heard of a hamstring "tweak" that's lasted this long. There's something else wrong with him that we don't know about, I think.

I had a hamstring 'tweak' that really bothered me for over a year.

And I'm definitely the equivalent of Gronk, if Gronk were a middle-aged desking TE.

If this lasts much longer I am going to start believing the contract conspiracies.

Didn't Manny have a tweeked hammy for the majority of his career?

But seriously, while I'm not a doctor, it seems to me (from both personal experience and observing others) that calf and hamstring tears can be bothersome for extended periods of time.

I pulled my right hamstring five times, it bothered me no longer than two weeks each time, not two months.

Something more is going on here.
And I've pulled my hamstring twice as well, and had to take 3-4 weeks off from running and when I did run again, it felt like I would pull it again if I pushed myself.

Something less is going on here.

Thanks for chiming in.
Ok, let me add as much as your post added.

In my 20s I injured a hamstring playing touch football and it took months to heal. I kept trying to play again after a few weeks and it just got worse each time. Ergo, there is no more going on with Gronk. Q.E.D.

Chuck Liddell pulled a hamstring before a fight but felt good enough to train and fight with it, calling the injury "manageable". Near the end of his training camp, his kicking/striking coach (who heard the initial pop) convinced the UFC and Nevada Athletic Board to give him a pre-fight physical, which he failed. He strongly objected, but the UFC canceled his fight. Here is his hamstring:

Despite initial reports, it was actually torn, not pulled.

Obviously these are two completely different sports which require different types of muscle use. But the point is a "hamstring injury" can mean plenty of different things. And everybody's pain tolerance is different. And let's not forget that Jeff Howe initially said that Gronk's injury consisted of "bruising". It could have been a partial tear just like Liddell's injury. I don't think anything funny is going on. It was probably just worse than originally reported and is taking longer to heal.

I'm pretty sure "pulled", "torn", "strained" are really all the same thing and each are used to describe injuries spanning a wide range of severities. A muscle is a bunch of fibers. When you place too much stress on it, you tear some; if you're unlucky, your tear a lot of them.

Exactly. We have very little knowledge of Gronk's injury, and I think it's a safe bet that that's the way BB wants it.

But, any way you look at it, it's worrisome. We had high hopes of an injury free year for Gronk, and we're a quarter through the regular season and he hasn't really played. Hopefully he's easing in, and he'll be fine the rest of the year/playoffs, but this is less than ideal.
