Rosenthal reporting that the Braves have decided to part ways with GM Frank Wren.

Chris McKendry read that the 3 high-cost FA "busts" (BJ, Lowe, Uggla) combined for 2.1 WAR in 9 seasons. Surprisedly impressed that ESPN would use WAR (since they're so LCD these days). Is this new for them?

Man, it's crazy how a couple of bad contracts can doom a GM. Looks like Wren was never really able to recover from the BJ contract. When you look at the terrible contracts Dombrowski has been giving out (I know, his owner supposedly made him do it..), it's quite unfair. Some teams really have no room for error. At the same time, some contracts are so terrible people should get fired for giving them out.

For this to matter, Fredi Gonzalez absolutely needs to be given the axe as well.
