While I know the Rox are not exactly minor league baseball, I thought this was the best location for this thread.

A friend of mine texted me yesterday this his son is playing for the Rox this summer and that he had just met a teammate Manny Ramirez Jr. It turns out the sons of David Ortiz and Pedro Martinez are also on the team (and Gary Sheffield's son too).

So if you all want to see the sons of some of the greatest Sox play baseball this summer, I'd suggest catching a Rox game--you might even see some proud papas in the stands.

If you do, please cheer loudly for John Archer whenever he pitches!

I don't see a roster, and Cade Foulke returns zero on a google search. Which is odd because you can usually get results for any random two words. Or non words.
It's on the drop down for "TEAM"....

I have some friends and family that play in this league --- and for the Vermont Team.

I was going to avoid the Brockton games (hate that city) - but I'll guess I'll go now. LOL

I go to probably 3/4 games a season. It’s a good take. Stadium is an easy in and out, and you can sit really close for very cheap.

Its because he spells it "Kade" rather than "Cade." Google reveals that he too has a famous Sox dad.

Pedro was at one of the games that I went to last year. We stayed probably 30 minutes after the game finishing our beers before we left, and we could see Pedro on the other side of the plate in the grandstand. He stayed and signed and took pictures with all of the kids. There was still a line when we hit the road. I thought that was really cool that he did that.

Yup. Google finds nothing for Cade, lots for Kade. And I missed that Team dropdown, good stuff there

Thanks for the link. The two quotes that made me laugh:

I really didn't understand how big he was until he got into the Hall of Fame," Martinez says. "I remember doing strength training with him and I see my favorite players and they're treating him like royalty. Like, that's Mookie Betts talking to him like he's someone cool, treating him like he's royalty. Why is this guy talking to my weird, dork dad? He spends his time at home taking care of his flowers.
This is some "all teenagers think their parents are dorks" shit right here. If Pedro is getting that treatment, there's no hope for the rest of us.

"The thing that I don't like is that if you hit a home run and you watch it, [our parents] get mad," Ramirez says. "If any of us hits a home run and watches it, they're going, 'Hey, what are you doing? Run the bases.' I'm just like, 'I'm trying to do what you guys used to do to the pitchers. I learned this from you. You used to pimp home runs.'"

Jokes Martinez: "My dad would just hit you."

"I think his dad hit my dad at one point," Sheffield responds, pointing at Martinez Jr. and laughing.
His dad hit everyone's dad at one point.

Hahahahahaha yeah those were great. I'm like, Pedro is basically the coolest guy on earth, and you, his kid, thinks he's a dork? What in the world?

And yeah, he plunked a LOT of guys, mostly on purpose.

That was a fun article. Not to be a downer, but, man, can you imagine being those kids? Like, my biggest goal in life is for my kids to be better as a person and better at what they choose to do than I have been. Luckily for my kids, those expectations aren't very lofty.
