My son texted me this as you posted it and he's thrilled. That's good enough for me.

I love this move. Sending out next year’s pick and two guys who were largely stapled to the bench in the playoffs for a guy who, if healthy, would be in the playoff rotation and add to the team defense.

Uhh, this might be a bit of hyperbole, but this is approaching 04 Pistons depth here, assuming reasonable health. A healthy Brogdon is the #3 option on this squad.

I don't think we can keep both of Smart and White now, can we? That'd be awfully crowded. Is White movable at his numbers? Or is this the end for Marcus?

Offensive versatility has taken a huge leap forward. Brogdon a guy who will contribute defensively, too.

I wonder if this moves Smart to the bench and what happens with White.

We FINALLY got a point guard who can both score and play defense. Hallejulah.

I love this trade. Getting off the Theis deal. Not waiting to see if Nesmith can replicate his 14 good shooting games in college. Acquiring another versatile guard who can defend.

What a trade. Brad doesn’t give a damn in he never makes a first round pick.

Proof positive that none of us, including those in the media, really knows what the fuck is going on behind the scenes.

Underrated aspect of Brogdon's game: he got to the free throw lines nearly as much as Jaylen last year.

WOW!

being able to just dump flotsam and one first for a solid starter, and keep the TPE is insane.

I'm very worried for what this means for Marcus, but damn.

They ain't effing around.

One year left on his deal at 22.6. Do we get Bird rights with this? Don’t think we needed to use the smaller TPE for this, right?

Brogdon was on the block for months because teams are very concerned about health and salary, but the kind of risk that makes sense for a team close to a title when the cost is low

Yes on Bird rights

No TPE used for this, Brogdon makes too much.

Why would you have to move Smart or White, exactly?

I have always really liked Brogdan, an undervalued prospect who just kept getting better. I imagine that with much better looks in Boston, he will be closer to the 40% three point shooter he was in Milwaukee than he was in Indiana.

Casual fan .... but, money aside, is this an indication they weren't happy with Smart taking so many shots

This team is going to be so fucking big skilled versatile deep holy shit let’s go
Love this move for the Celtics. But what am I missing on the "haul" coming back to the Pacers? The return for Indy is basically one (very late) first-round pick.

Impressed that Stevens addressed these two needs so quickly and so well.

So do Horford and Time Lord. Am I the only one who thought Theis would have gotten a lot of playing time in 2022-23?
Gallo will step in comfortably, and then some. Gives up more on defense but far superior offensively.
