I guess I'll start this now before I forget that Boston even has an NHL team...

Set your calendars accordingly, in just 5 short days the Bruins take on the Flyers in Philly at 7:00 pm.

When the league implemented the bye week concept a few years ago, the first thing teams complained about was returning to play after 5 days off and playing teams that are were not idle. The record of teams playing their first game back against a team that was not on a bye was terrible. It was like a free win for non-bye teams. So the league tried to address this and have half the league sit at the same time and return and play each other while the other half got the bye.

Here, in a non bye year due to the ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY BEING OFF, the Bruins have a 5-day layoff and return to play a back-to-back against teams that will have played twice already this week. Fucking crazy. They've had two days off of practice this week because they literally have nothing to do.

I know we all joke about Toronto having it in for the B's, but this schedule is goddamned criminal. Never mind how stupid it is now, there's no chance we get through the back end onslaught of B2B's healthy. This shit is fucked.

Zboril's been really good in his 3 appearances. It's worth giving him an extended look to see if it's real. If so, and I have my doubts, he could be a perfect partner for McAvoy.

This week featured the longest partial lunar eclipse in 580 years. With that in the books the NHL schedulers figured it was time to let the Bruins step back on the ice. It may take a bit to remember what this game of hockey is all about. I‘m sure Gritty and the boys will do something stupid to poke the bear.

Go B’s. Win please.

Gotta think with the amount of rust they've accumulated that getting any points out of this one will be borderline miraculous.

And the Flyers intermission crew can’t figure out the Marchand penalty either. It’s just insane the double standard that exists.

I have never seen that happen before. Did Bergeron hit the ref, so he never got his stick down, so Giroux putting his stick down was a violation?
