Per DeBrusk on T&R this morning, Pasta was skating with Marchand and Bergeron at practice.

Bruce said it looks like Pasta will play, but he’ll officially be a game time decision. He’ll be on the top line as gets back into it. They are sticking with Coyle at RW too.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Coyle
Heinen - Kuraly - Wagner
Nordstrom - Acciari - Backes

Chara - McAvoy
Moore - Carlo
Kampfer - Clifton

Rask

Kampfer - Clifton is not a particularly strong defensive pairing. Still, that's two strong forward lines. Not sure what else to do until people return.

I’d put Heinen with Krejci and leave Coyle at 3C.
That seems optimal. I wonder if Cassidy is just giving Coyle some time at wing just in case it becomes necessary later. He and Krejci together seem redundant. Maybe it to get Coyle to shoot more when he does move off that line.

I'm fine trying to get Coyle and Krejci some chemistry. They haven't looked on the same page in limited time so far but Coyle is the type of player Krejci has had success with historically.

I think/hope Coyle at 3C is the long term plan, but moving him to Krejci's wing is logical in the playoffs when they need to shorten the bench late in games and/or when they're not at 100%.

Something like:
Marchand - Bergeron - Heinen
DeBrusk - Krejci - Pastrnak
Mojo - Coyle - Backes/Nordy
Kuraly - Acciari - Wagner

And during crunch time when they *need* a goal or want to shake things up, reduce it to something like:
Marchand - Bergeron -Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Coyle
Heinen/Kuraly/Mojo/Wagner

Just woke up for the last 3 minutes, man what a great forecheck by the Krejci line.

Also, I don't know if he gets my vote, but Kuraly deserves some consideration for 7th player.

It’ll probably be Wagner or, less likely, Grzelyck oR Halak.

Outside the box option that’ll never win, but to me should get consideration- David Krejci.

I agree with Brick, Pasta looks fully healthy, just looks like a guy who missed a month of game action. I think he will be a beast come playoff time.
