In my limited viewings, I agree. He has a very high floor with his speed and his two way ability. Hopefully the skill translates though because the whole package would be a nice middle 6 NHLer.

He could be great with Bergeron and Marchand (who wouldn't be?) but in terms of the Bruins, he's not the best fit with Spooner on the third line and for the playoffs, I'd imagine they'd prefer a veteran fourth line. JFK, for example, would fit better on the Spooner's line.

I know the scouting reports talk about a two way game with Bjork, and it's there, but he's small and in Hockey East was always geared toward offense. JFK seems like the easier player to play right now and I like Bjork more as a prospect/player.

I like him on Krejci's LW. I'd like to see them stay with Marchand-Bergeron-Backes, then have Bjork-Krejci-Pastrnak, and then Vatrano/Belesky-Spooner-Stafford. I think those work better, and Bjork will be more "protected" on Krejci's line. It would also give them a little more speed to pair with Pasta.

CSSNE also reported yesterday that they had basically offered him something similar to JFK and McAvoy (I assume burning a year of the ELC), and Sweeney effectively said the ball was in his Court. Not promising from my perspective, because Bjork is their most NHL ready forward not in professional hockey and could help them right now. There must be some real pressure on him to return for his senior season at ND, and if he does the talk about him Veseying the Bruins will be prevalent until then.

So if Bjork doesn't sign with the Bruins during the playoffs, does that mean he's going back to ND? And if that's the case, he's probably going to Vesey the B's, right?

Yes, and not necessarily. By all reports, he wants to be a Bruin - but is weighing getting his degree and playing in the Olympics.
I think this is closest to reality. Bjork likes the Bruins organization, but the prospect of being a top line wing on Team USA with Bettman goat-fucking the rooting public of USA hockey is enticing, as is their chances at getting back to the NCAA tournament. By all accounts, Bjork is a great kid and is still only 20 years old. If he stays, I think it's still more likely he signs with the Bruins in April of next year, but the possibility of him Veseying the Bruins by definition goes up.

I would love to see him sign right now, but if it hasn't happened yet I don't think it will.

The playoffs aren't a deadline for him to sign or anything. He can sign whenever he wants in the summer. It's more unlikely he signs as this drags out, but it's not a deadline like MLB or something.

I knew that it wasn't a strict deadline, where the B's would lose him. What I meant was, there seems to be leverage for the Bruins by giving Bjork incentive to sign during the playoffs: he gets his feet wet in the NHL, he plays during the postseason, he starts his career now. Rather than signing during the summer. To me, that seems like a pretty big carrot to wave in front of a kid who wants to play hockey: jump into the playoffs, start your career now, earn cash, etc.

It seems to me (before reading what others have said about him liking the Bruins organization) that after that incentive is gone, it might be a tougher sign.

That was my point.

He can still sign at the end of the school year next year, and join the Bruins in the playoffs then.

Signing an 2016-17 ELC hs got to be a strong incentive for signing now if he is going to sign at all.

Senyshyn's team got bounced from the playoffs yesterday. He's apparently on the way to Providence. Gabrielle joined last week and played in 1 game.

Providence's playoff run starts Friday. 5 game series against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Some final regular season #'s from the Baby B's:

DeBrusk- 74 games 19-30=49
Heinen- 64 games 14-30=44
Cehlarik- 49 games 20-18=38
Grzelyck- 70 games 6-26=32
O'Gara- 59 games 4-9=13

McIntyre- 21-6-1, 2.03 GAA, .930 sv%
Subban- 11-14-1, 2.41 GAA, .917 sv%
Vladar- 4-0-1, 2.62 GAA, .921 sv%

Jeremy Lauzon's team was eliminated on Tuesday. He's expected to join Providence today. Senyshyn is also supposed to arrive and practice with Providence today as well. I don't think either will play right away, but having them around practice is good. Lauzon may have a better chance of getting in right away with Cross being up in Boston.

Final #'s:

Senyshyn: 59 games 42-23=65 and 11 playoff games 4-1=5

Lauzon: 39 games 5-23=28 and 13 playoff games 5-9= 14

That leaves Zboril as the only player left in the CHL playoffs, but he is injured.

I'd imagine Senyshyn will need a couple years in providence. Love his speed and goal scoring ability, but the lack of all around game and playmaking ability are a bit concerning. 4g 1a is not ideal for a player of his caliber in the playoffs.

I remain intrigued by Lauzon. He seems like he could be a real find for them on the left side. Averaging a PPG is really good to see in the playoffs.

Just a quick post to say thanks for the input and knowledge in this thread. Not having the ability to track these players but still having a general feel for what we have in the pipeline is really cool and appreciated.

Thank you one and all.

Boston is done, so we turn our Bruins hockey attention to the Providence version. They play game 3 of their 5 game series in Wilkes/Barre tonight. Series is tied 1-1. Bruins lineup according to Divver,

DeBrusk - Czarnik - Porter
Heinen - Szwarz - Porter
Mueller - Kuraly - Senyshyn
Blidh - Cave - Randell

O'Gara - Cross
Grzelcyk - Grant
Breen - Marshall

McIntyre

Cehlarik is apparently hurt. Senyshyn is debuting for Providence tonight. Not sure if Acciari was sent down along with Kuraly, and apparently Forsbacka Karlsson is ineligible for the playoffs.

Two goals for DeBrusk. Simpson & Hargrove had the others. 27 saves for McIntyre.

O'Gara (lower body), Marshall (upper body), Mueller (facial injury/stick gm 3), Cehlarik (upper body) sat tonight. Senyshyn also sat.

Providence wins game 5 to advance. Heinen scored both Providence goals and McIntyre stopped 50 of 51.
Wilkes-Barre had knocked them out last year, so it's nice for them to get some revenge. Winning 2 of 3 in WB was difficult, and great to see. McIntyre was en fuego though. Good to see that from him. Also good to see Heinen and DeBrusk leading the offense. The further they play on, the better it will be for all of them.

Bjork update from Cam today:

Cam says they're doing everything they can, and he thinks Bjork was possibly overwhelmed after the season. B's under the impression Bjork will make a decision after the world's. They've let him know how much they like him.

I was in attendance for games 1 and 2 of this series. The Sea Dogs were by far the better team in both games, but Zboril wasn't too impressive in either game. He seemed to be playing passive in the defensive zone and drifting around the ice at times. He was on the second pairing in game 1 and then paired with Chabot for a bunch of game 2. Overall, he didn't stand out from what I saw.

Julien Gauthier looked phenomenal in both games. I thought he was the best player on the ice, although, he took a game misconduct hit to the head penalty in the early third of game 2. Carolina has themselves a pretty good player.
