Sorry but I needed to put that other thread (and this season) out of its misery.

Huge commitment today for the 2022-23 season.

Mintz is widely considered to be a top 35 player, and one of the best scoring guards coming out this year. Adds to an already really strong class that 24/7 ranks as the 13th in the nation.

50534

This team needed a reset. These guys will help make that happen.

really liked what I saw from Jesse Edwards this season. Not a JG3 fan

long, lean, athletic works in the zone vs unathletic, slow bad defenders that we had this past season

For anyone keeping score that was Jim Boeheim's first team that wasn't better than .500

The worst Syracuse hoops team in 50yrs. Jimmy tried his damndest to get Buddy into the NBA draft, not happening

With Swider leaving, the team is taking shape. You have a backcourt rotation of Mintz, Girard, and Torrence, with Copeland probably spending a year learning and not playing much. At forward, you have a 3 forward rotation of Williams, Bunch, and Taylor, and then you have Edwards with (presumably) a transfer backup Center (this assumes Carey redshirts). Maybe you get some defense and rebounding out of JBA, but he's still likely an emergency-only player. Given that he has 8-9 guys who could play, I hope Boeheim plays some man and mixes it up a little. He has threatened to do that, so we'll see. He claims this is his best recruiting class ever. That's a bold statement, given that he had a class that included Coleman and Thompson and another that had Melo and McNamara.

The team is better with Torrence running the point. Girard is better as an off-ball scorer. Mintz is a legit talent who can cover either spot. So the backcourt is okay - would love a fourth guard though because there will be injuries, sickness, whatever.

There's talent in the front court too. And at center, what about Anselem? He's fine as a backup.

Anselem entered the portal, so I assume he's going to leave. But I suppose he could return. That would mean nobody offered him a starting gig.
