The playoffs are almost upon us and the team looks pretty ready. How will this crazy season end for the Celtics?

It’s Friday and I’m feeling lucky. I’ve convinced myself that with TL 2.0 in place there is no limit to what this team can do. Get the duck boats ready.

where I was last at
I think the Bucks are the biggest challenge, but I like the Celts D and depth which should serve them well in a 7-gamer. I think if healthy, they will be a tough out for anyone.

I predicted an ECF loss, but honestly even a hard-fought series loss to Toronto would be hard to get too upset about given how well Toronto has done this year.

And if the Cs were somehow to beat Philly, Toronto, Milwaukee, and whoever comes out of the West that would be possibly the most amazing postseason run by a Celtics team ever factoring in quality of competition.

If the Celtics who ran every Raptor off the 3pt line and made their shooters deeply uncomfortable show up, sky is the limit, because the key to beating Milwaukee is not stopping Giannis but rather outshooting their non-Giannis players.

The leader in the clubhouse for most amazing postseason run by a Celtics team is 1969, by the way. They finished 48-34, a distant fourth in the East, but beat the #2 East seed Philly 4-1. Then faced the Knicks, who had swept the #1 seed Bullets and had gone 4-1 vs Boston in the regular season. They beat them in six. Then they beat the Lakers superteam in the Finals. All those teams they beat had titles within three years of that season.

I think they have to beat Toronto in the 2nd round to make this a successful season. The expectations have changed since Tatum and Brown have made the leap and Hayward/Kemba are healthy and playing well. They need to play at a consistent level to do so. I am really excited to see if Tatum can take his seat at the top 10 player in the game table after this postseason.

I think it goes 6/7 with the Bucks and they play the whole series 5v8 and lose when Giannis gets every call his way.

heard Bill Rider predict today that Cs go to championship FWIW.

He also predicted that KL would become 1st player to be Finals MVP for 3 different teams and people would start arguing whether he is better than LBJ.

Simmons out and no homecourt for Toronto are really big breaks.

I just can’t quite bring myself to pick us beating the Bucks. I like our matchups against all of the West teams, so I’d pick the Celtics if they got through Milwaukee.

Losing in the 1st or 2nd round would be a huge disappointment, despite the fact that Toronto is a quality opponent. It would leave the impression that the team is unable to progress to the next level.

I don’t think this Celtics team will beat the Bucks, but they shouldn’t be embarrassed by them either. I’m expecting the Celtics lose in 6 or 7, with most of the games fairly close.

It's real tough to guess because Hayward might miss a round due to having a kid. I don't think the Celtics can beat any of these teams without him. If he only misses a game or two against Toronto, the Celtics can probably overcome that. If he's missing 4 games against the Bucks, no chance.
