Marcus Smart did virtually nothing for 3 1/2 quarters and then took over the game with a little over 5 minutes remaining, and the C's won going away.

I've never hated a successful Celtics run, even a modest one like the Obie runs. But Obieball was just aesthetically awful basketball. It's one of the reasons why I'm pretty effin' meh about the Rockets, although they are much better built for that style of play.

Freakin' Jim O'Brien:  Totally ran my alma mater's storied hoops program into the ground and his punishment?  He is then allowed to ruin my hometown's NBA franchise.  Screw 'em.

IMHO Dick Harter deserves some of the blame for making that team difficult to watch, as does Pitino, who hired both of them.

Smart is a great passer but I still see Tyreke Evans in that he physically isn't going to be able to play this position full time. As for Pressey......he's no great shakes but he absolutely belongs in the league and will be on someone 15-man roster for awhile. There aren't many players who can get pretty much anywhere they want on the floor and his passing/decision making continues to improve. He's got like 12 assists today and it's only the 3rd quarter......and these aren't "Rondo assists" dumping it to Pierce or KG.

Off topic.....how does Pressey feel that he couldn't acquire ANY of his fathers height? How many 6'6 men have sons who are 5'8? He's either the unluckiest athlete in the world or his mom took advantage of long Bucks road trips back in the day. ;)

Really fun stuff between MIL and CLE tonight. Wiggins and Parker showing why they were the top picks, Giannis doing Giannis stuff, Anthony Bennett making some Barkley-esque "clear the lane running two hand power jams." Instead of a bunch of talking, its nice to see some actual basketball.

Vonleh made his debut. 32 minutes, 0 points on 0-13 (0-4 3's) and 0-2 FT.5 fouls and 3 turnovers. He did have 3 blocks however.

I imagine that there weren't too many assists either. He's not much of a passer.

I made that post from looking at NBA.com's box score only. This morning when I turned on the TV, the game was being replayed (watched some of Cavs/Mil last night) and I did see Vonleh make a layup so I am pretty sure there is some error in that box score. The announcer did comment that Vonleh finally got one to fall, so it seems like the point that he struggled in his debut stands.

A list of the best and worst players in Las Vegas summer league. Jabari Parker was the 2nd worst player among those with at least 100 minutes. The main culprit was a huge turnover issue.

In the premature conclusions bucket, he reminds me of Evan Turner. He's a much better prospect than Turner was due to youth, but I'm really not sure he's going to be a good pro right off the bat.

I think you read that wrong.  Parker was in the Bottom 25, but he was the 2nd best player in the bottom 25.  Still not good for the 2nd pick in the draft.

You're right - that's a weird formatting decision, putting the "best" at the top. Obviously none of this means much yet of course. I'd actually much rather have the bottom 25 on that list than the top 25 actually. The bottom 25 includes Parker, Exum, Vonleh, Caboclo, and Payne, all of whom I'm somewhat high on. The top 25's best rookie is T.J. Warren?
