The Heat did not have shootaround this morning which is rather odd. So no updates on their injuries/possible Covid situation.

From Ira Winderman who covers the Heat for the Sun Sentinel
For those who insist on living on Twitter rumors (and blowing up my phone). NO Heat players did not return with the team due to COVID. Two STAFFERS did not return: a broadcaster and a therapist. Team otherwise would have HAD to list on injury report if that was case with players.
So I guess Murray kinda sorta had it right. Two people from the team didn't travel back to Miami due to covid. But no players

That is such a weird way to word that. Why not "All Heat players returned with the team."?

I think it was Karalis who mentioned yesterday on his podcast that Spoelstra was canceling this morning's shootaround so we won't know who is available . Presumably because he has too many players with injuries.

Washburn reported that Smart walked back to the team bus with a hitch but he presumably participated in BOS's shootaround.

The Bam Covid rumors have been running hot all morning.
But was he trying to say that some of the Heat players didn't return with the team and that it just wasn't due to COVID, or was he phrasing it that way because he was specifically trying to refute the "Heat players did not return with the team due to COVID" and just didn't recognize how awkward that looked?

If 2 members of the staff had COVID, the risk that some of the players have COVID seems high. Of course, remarkably, no members of the Celtics seemed to get COVID after Horford. But, maybe the NBA has some "special tests" which result in reliably negative results :)

League has different tests depending on who is up in the series. They are called “The Scott Foster Tests” Lol

Yeah, just 300 followers + no blue checkmark + first tweet since May 10. There's some smoke, but this just feels like a guy taking an educated guess and a chance.

He’s legit but just not very Twitter active. Nobody else has confirmed which is strange but he hasn’t taken it down either. Oh the drama!!

Please don't share news from "reporters" that don't have blue checks. Woj would have it first if it was real (it's not).

If Smart plays anything close to his normal level that will be a near inhuman level of toughness. I'm not sure they should let him play given the way his ankle twisted and the fact that he still has swelling.

Here
This is really there for the taking for Boston. I’d expect the Heat will get some home cooking, especially after games 3 and 4, but this is the kind of game you’d really hope this core wins.

Yup. We really should win this by 6-10 points when you account for the home officiating edge. This team can’t hang with us unless we let them.

I hope I’m wrong but I can’t help but wonder if there’s a connection between Tatum’s bad shooting performance in game 4 and his shoulder injury from game 3. If so, I’ll be nervously watching him shoot tonight.

Otoh, maybe thats what caused him to force the issue and get so many FTs.

I know it's not the same as a 3 but it didn't seem to hurt him at the line, 14 for 16.

I think it is a virtual certainty. And not only is it a problem on threes, it has messed up his drives. He wouldn't be on the floor in a reg season game.

As a fan, I like only 1 day between games (I liked the bubble for that reason). But with the travel, these guys seem a bit run down.

Full second half stat lines for the Jay’s.

Jaylen 19/3/1 on 8-12 shooting.
Tatum 16/8/4 on 6-11 shooting.

I love the mental toughness it shows after they both had really rough first halves, just differently. Jaylen kept turning it over, and Tatum couldn’t hit any shots. Them bouncing back like that was big time.

They could really use the rest that would come with a close out on Friday night. Hoping Dallas can take this to six or seven as well, just to force the Warriors to play more minutes.

Five full days off would be big, especially having to travel west for the first two.

Derrick White kept them in the game in the first half. Might be overlooked with how dominant they were in the second, but he was terrific.

BAm and Vinvent went a combined 14-27. Rest of MIA: 16-67 or 23.8%.

With Butler (I guess) hurt and Lowry really shouldn't be out there and no Herro, MIA just doesn't have the weapons to score consistently against BOS in the half-court.

It woyld have been interesting to see this series with everyone healthy. I still think BOS would have won but it woyld have been a lot more interesting.

My favorite White play of the night was that fast break where he hustled back, intercepted a dump off to Bam, jumped over the endline looking for a pass and realizing he didn't have anyone to pass to wisely held the ball. Just great hustle and great situational awareness.

MIA only scored 38 in the 2H, but that includes 2 garbage time buvkets, which means that JB and JT outscored MIA in the 2H before they got pulled.
