This is obviously a huger than huge rivalry game but it’s not so bad going forward for Ohio St. Unless the Terps upset Penn St, the Buckeyes don’t have to get humiliated by Oregon next week. They lose the bye but still make the playoffs and whoever is named interim head coach can use that extra week to prepare for the first round.

Why do you assume they would be humiliated? They were seconds away from winning at Oregon earlier this year and would likely be a betting favorite on a neutral field.

There are 8-10 SEC teams that are about as good as Tennessee and Florida usually are. I suppose that makes the conference better than usual

How many SEC teams would beat OSU right now? 10?
Texas would give them a game. Maybe Georgia? Maybe.

Fin.

Rivalry games don't tell much of a story about OSU. Ryan Day just can't beat Michigan and his tension and failure flows through the entire team. Plus the QB was concussed and shouldn't have been playing.

The SEC has been overrated for 15 years but this year it has been wildly overrated. Every team is good. None are dominant.

I don't think there is a really good team in college football this year.

I think the chaos continues into the playoffs.

Who has anyone in the Big 10 played out of conference? Oregon squeaked by Boise State by 3 at home, that’s about it. It’s a closed system. They’re all mediocre.

There are only two good conferences. They haven’t played each other, so by that logic neither has played anybody.

This is the problem with the expansion. Conferences are too large and schedules unbalanced. SEC claims they are beating each other yet struggled in their out of conference matchups. If it wasn’t for the rivalry games we wouldn’t see that ACC and SEC played a bit even.

Looking forward to seeing the playoffs and what happens. That’s said, no SEC team with 3 loses should be there.

Arkansas player Landon Jackson was just taken off the field on a backboard and straight into an ambulance. He was moving his legs before he was put on the stretcher, but no idea the extent of his injury. Luckily, the U of MO hospital is across the street from the field and is a Level 1 trauma center.

TX put a beat down on UM on the road, Bama smoked Wisco on the road, LSU beat UCLA handily at home and lost a close one to USC at a neutral site.

Here
QB had the TD on 2nd down, too. I know reaching out can be risky, be he had an open field and easy TD.

That was one of the worst throws I have ever seen a D1 college QB make. I am sure the timing route was messed up but the throw was terrible regardless. It was a soft ball directly to the USC DB.

Love it when announcers don’t know the rules, ball was tipped my guy

Wow, bailed out by defensive holding though. The ball was in the air when he held, how can that be holding? That should be a potential DPI negated by the tipped pass.

That was BS to me, the "holding" occurred after the ball's release and the tip. Should have been a DPI call but negated by the tip.

Cuse have been more screwed by the refs, Miami shoulda been punting two plays ago and they had a first quarter TD called back on an incredibly marginal illegal formation call

I can't wait for @BaseballJones's report on the battle for Southwick Jug.
UMass-UConn was actually a really fun game. Tons of action. Tons of scoring. Came down to an onside kick at the end.

Great year by UConn standards. 8-4, albeit against a not crazy strong schedule (to say the least), but plenty of wins to get a fun bowl bid, hopefully the one in Boca Raton. That’s what everyone here is hoping for, myself included. I’d rather go there than be in Boston or NY at the end of December.
