Is it just me, or did Syracuse fans do the dorkiest storming of the field this season?

TX put a beat down on UM on the road, Bama smoked Wisco on the road, LSU beat UCLA handily at home and lost a close one to USC at a neutral site.
Not sure four September games against teams that finished roughly 8th to 11th in the Big Ten proves much.

Huge win for Syracuse over Miami. Is Bama now in?
Biggest win for my Orange in.....forever. Awesome game, awesome win. 9-3 regular season is pretty nice, knocking off three ranked teams in the process (#23 Georgia Tech, #25 UNLV, and #6 Miami). Best season in a very long time. Should secure us a pretty good bowl. Nowhere near good enough to be in the national picture, but hey, I'll take 9-3 in the ACC.

9-3 in the ACC is pretty damn close to being 10-2 in the ACC, which does put you in the national picture imo.

I suppose SMU will need to beat Clemson, then it will be between Bama, Miami and South Carolina. I have a hard time seeing them pass up Bama at Happy Valley or Bama at the Horseshoe for a 1st Round playoff game.
Good point. Let’s keep in mind this is all about entertainment for ESPN. Kinda like bowl season light. Bama will get in because of the brand and that’s what everyone signed up for.

I think the ACC has some nice teams but no one with a legit chance to win the title. SMU will be exposed on defense by a good offensive team. Look at how BC played them at their place a few weeks ago. Miami isn’t particularly dominant and Syracuse lost to BC, Pitt and Stanford. Clemson is bad matchup for some.

Oregon is the best team by a long shot. And no one should sleep on IU. Seriously. They spiraled after the special teams miscues and the UM game is looking much better as Blue finished very strong.

Really hope Malzahn somehow helps fix FSU. I'm not the biggest Noles fan, but this is a bummer to see after they got screwed last year.

Oh, agreed. I guess it depends how you're defining nationally relevant.

IU taking care of business so far up 21-0 as they should be. How much fun will it be to see an SEC team playing ND or IU on snow or below freezing temps?

In the NFL, they'd just buzz down and adjust the spot, right? Wouldn't need to go to the monitor and trigger a three-minute TV timeout?
Probably, and they can do that in college too. But if they aren’t sure they should have just left it, it’s not worth taking the time to definitively figure it out over two yards.

Replay manual says a play is only reviewable if it has “material impact” on the game. The difference between 2nd/10 and 2nd/8 in the 1st quarter isn’t impactful enough IMO

Looked like he was already turned upfield/was a runner, but I think they’ll broadly interpret whether he’s a receiver to deter hits like that.

Two terrible passes by Ewers. Sidearmed the pass that got blocked instead of a touch throw to a wide open tight end and then short armed the pass on third down where he could have run for the first.
