New threads are good! Also, I'm officially switching to global date conventions from now on (in all walks of life, not just global football).

Today's matches:

Shaktar @ Atalanta
Brugge @ Real
PSG @ Galatasaray
Neverlosin' @ Juve
Atleti @ Lokomotiv Moscow
Zagreb @ Citeh
Olympiakos @ Red Star Belgrade
Bayern @ Spurs

Madrid looks to get back on track after taking a beating by PSG and Spurs host Bayern after an away draw in Greece. Spurs should go into this match and go after Bayern. A draw isn't a terrible result but will send this teetering club and fanbase into a spin. God help us if they lose.

Tomorrow's matches:

Napoli @ Genk
Dortmund @ Prague
Inter @ Barca
Chelsea @ Lille
Salzburg @ Pool
Lyon @ Leipzig
Ajax @ Valencia
Benfica @ Zenit

I’m pumped to see Haland. Anyone that pumps in goals like that is fascinating.

And Brugge has to just take off the sub that just came on a few minutes ago to realign. They're foundering.

Brugge hold on for the draw. I'll admit that I haven't seen much of Real this year, but what the hell are they thinking with their squad management? I admit that Barca doesn't have it all figured out either, but FDJ, Arthur, Vidal, and Roberto at least show that Barca is trying to fix their MF. Meanwhile, Madrid keeps trotting out Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro and hoping for better results, notwithstanding the drop-off (however small) between Ronaldo and Vinicius/Hazard.

Ramos looked 100% off on first glance. Edit: watching on replay though looked good, alas

Atalanta drop their match to Shakhtar Donetsk at the death - now are 0-2 with a -5 GD despite having played Zagreb and Donetsk - with City yet to come.

Ndombele is carving Bayern apart so far with his passing. Also Aurier carved Alaba's legs apart with his studs and was lucky to stay on the pitch.

Tolisso is just KILLING Bayern right now.

And Son, too. He's looking extra feisty.

Sonny!!

Also this is the best the Spurs press has looked in almost a year (when they beat Chelsea 3-0). They are forcing turnovers high up the pitch.

Sleepy defending allows Kimmich to level for Bayern, good goal.

Either Tottenham Stadium is really loud or bleacherreport has the crowd noise sound channel turned up very high in the mix.

What a fucking disaster that was. Why have Tottenham decided to just sit back and concede the midfield?? Things were going great!

Bayern is playing well but Spurs have completely gone away from what was working over the first 30 minutes and it is god damn inexplicable.

No idea how that wasn't a PK for Bayern on VAR review. Rose was badly beat by the move and took out his legs with the slide.

They quit after the fifth goal. Sigh.

Also Bayern's finishing has been absurd tonight. They've got 7 goals on what I bet will be like 3.1 xG. Just lashing in shots from all over. Not a whole lot you can do about that.

Does this make Poch to Man U more likely? Just listening to the BT Sport pundits talking about unrest in the Spurs camp re: the manager, lack of signings etc...

This Tottenham season basically mimicking the Celtics season has been an unwelcome surprise.

California. Duh.
Liverpool up 2 after 25 minutes. Mane with a nice opener on the give and go, and Robbo gets his first European goal from a TAA cross. That the fullbacks hooked up for the second tells you all you need to know about how much of a threat Salzburg's attack has been so far.

Tuning in late. Inter up a goal in Barca already - Martinez in minute 3. Conte has really drilled this team well - Barca with 70% possession and nothing cooking.

in the last 10, Semedo made a goal saving block and ter Stegen made a very fine save. Inter are incisive in the counter.

Suarez up to Suarez things here, could get ugly.

edit: and then Martinez gets released on a nice ball on the counter, but Semedo plays it perfectly. You could show this to youth learning to defend - uses his body to angle Martinez away from goal, stays focused on the ball,, and blocks a shot ultimately taken from a tough angle. Without Semedo, Barca are down at least 1 more, maybe 2.

Outstanding recovery defending there by Firpo. Real danger put out.

Edit: Apparently it's Semedo at LB. Makes more sense now too. Incredible speed and strength to put Lautaro off there.
