This is on Rodgers. His defense gave him the ball three times with a chance to take the lead or tie the game, and he got only a FG.
Absolutely.

They had their chances even after the two TDs they spotted the Bucs.

Bad calls by the coaches and bad calls by the offense

I'm surprised they didn't ask Brady to renounce his filthy Patriots past at the trophy presentation.

California. Duh.
semantics, i guess, but bummed that the year we finally get a home team super bowl, we're hit with the pandemic. would be incredible to see the place completely packed with bucs fans, who would probably pay anything to be there and get all of the tickets.
Well, the 49ers played at Stanford and the Rams played one in the Rose Bowl, so there's been local teams in the Super Bowl before, just not in their home stadium. But yeah, crazy that it happens during a pandemic.

What does a Brady win in two weeks do to Belichik’s legacy, I wonder. Pretty clear who needed whom.
No this is nonsense. Brady left NE and went to a team loaded with weapons. He’s been fantastic and this will enhance Brady’s legacy but in no way diminishes Belichick’s.

Well, Brady and all those guys who opted out of the season
And there’s the whole our QB throwing for fewer than 10 touchdowns thing. Winning 7 games this year while barely losing a few that would’ve made it 9 or 10 is a feather in BB’s cap, not a mark against him.

Good lord. He probably played his worst half ever. And he wasn’t great in the first half and definitely should have been picked right before the half. 3 straight picks and lucky to get 3 points on the penultimate drive.
He's going to his TENTH FUCKING SUPER BOWL.

Cornelius Bennett lost 5 (4 with the Bills and 1 with the Falcons). Not sure if anyone else from those Bills teams lost another one elsewhere.
Gale Gilbert, a backup QB, lost four straight with Buffalo and then a fifth straight when he went to San Diego. OL Glenn Parker lost four with Buffalo and another one with the Giants in SB 35.

Home or road, 23 or 43, favorite or underdog, playoffs or regular season... the guy wins 75% of the time. Ridiculous.

I mean except at Denver but still...

Ridiculous. GOAT in any sport?

That game was a good example of why pass rushers are so valuable in the modern NFL. Tampa Bay had a really banged up secondary, but GB could not block Barrett or JPP and that was the difference in the game.

FG might have made sense with the old onside kick rules. That's the only thing I can think of.

Wouldn’t the same be true for Tampa if they picked that flag up and Rodgers has the ball with 90 seconds left?
I get it, I do.

But GB went three and out *twice* after Brady picks, and then kicked a FG on their last possession. I can’t have been the only one who said, out loud, at that point: “Dumb. It’s Tom Brady, they won’t get the ball back”.

GB blew that game in 30 seconds of play sandwiching halftime. They lost this game more than the Bucs won.

Uh oh, Shaq Barrett just said Brady was a "great game manager." Get ready for the hot takes debates!
