Which bowl is BC going to? What about Syracuse?

Was BYU a possibility instead of Michigan State? Or is it strictly rankings based?
BYU needed to be ranked above Michigan State, yes

sugar and Rose are conference tie-ins

the bCS committee decides the rest of the “New Years” and they usually go by rankings for the 3-4 teams that are left and then it goes to the individial bowls committees

the lesser bowls are all aboutwho the bowl thinks will sell more tickets, more hotel rooms andteams that they don’t get a chance at within the confines of conference tie ins

BC probably Fenway, no bowl for Syracuse.
6-7 Hawaii got an waiver to play in a Bowl Game (they are playing Memphis in Hawaii). But all the other teams with losing records are out of luck.

Cheez It…???? Lolol…..

So, once upon a time, the Cheez-It Bowl was the Tangerine Bowl. I suppose that’s appropriate, given Clemson’s disappointing season.

It's hard to get people to want to go to Hawaii and play football. Probably for obvious reasons but still.

I think the facilities are the big issue. There's so much talent across the Pacific for which Hawaii is the most convenient location. With the right coach and AD, I'd think they could thrive again. If things go sideways with Niumatalolo at Navy, I'd be all over him if I were Hawaii.

If you’re going to end up in some garbage bowl, this at least seems like it could be kinda fun, assuming the weather somewhat cooperates. I might grab some tix the week of if the forecast doesn’t look too bad.

The only thing that can save this turd of a UNC football season is Mack Brown getting Duke's Mayo dumped on him.

Clearly the Duke's Mayo Bowl needed to have Duke in it. Too bad they are so horrible they don't qualify.

I'm surprised Penn State got a New Year's Day bowl. But they do travel very, very well. Especially to Florida on the middle the winter. Ought to be a good game.
The problem with all bowl games outside of the playoff system is that no pro prospect should ever play. Which makes them less interesting than spring practice.

It saddens me, because the New Year’s Day games used to be the pinnacle of the sport. It is what it is.

I doubt Treylon Burks will play for Arkansas in their bowl for this reason. From what I've been reading he's projected as a first round pick. Happy for him, but our chances go down without him. Same for some players on defense.

Treylon has said he would play, the dude LOVES being a Razorback. Rumor is that they're trying to put together a huge NIL deal for him to come back, BUT the kid needs to go pro since he's projected around pick 10-15.

Also I'd imagine every kid is unmotivated to play after their coach leaves, which happens way too often. Coaches should have to sit out a year as well haha.

I like U of Arkansas position of having the next nearest pro team in any major sport over 3 hours away in landing NIL deals for the players. Especially with a nickname rife for food deals.

Time for Walmart, Tyson, and JB Hunt to put up some cash.

Treylon Burks officially opts out of Outback bowl, gonna turn pro. Definitely don't blame the kid, hope he kills it in the NFL.
