it's literally just students and staff there. there's going to be some cheap/obvious takes about how "wrong" this is. let them have this.

Dude... It’s wrong, regardless of the circumstances. Congrats to ND, but this is exactly the spectacle we don’t need.

not sure anyone expected a bunch of students to do when the #1 school came in and was just knocked off in double overtime. i would have done the same thing if i were a student there.

I mean they're filling practically an entire 100x50 yard field, this isn't "just" a small amount of people. Students not at the game will suffer when this shit causes a shutdown of in-person classes in the near future.

i'm not disagreeing that it's necessarily a bad thing (it is), but i just don't think the kids would have the self-restraint to not do it.

Eh. Could be that they've just beat three very bad teams. (Not meaning to rain on your parade, mind you!)

Meanwhile, that other team in Indiana is off to a pretty hot start tonight.
I’m not going to pee on your parade as I have a lot of respect for you as a poster. I’m guessing you have not watched an IU game.

Michigan is Michigan . We are supposed to lose to them. Period. The close calls in the last few years have been about depth issues. We lost our all Big10 safety early in the game because he is a moron that threw a punch.

Harbaugh blamed the loss on missing his 2 guards. Michigan is supposed to go 3 deep. Lame.

Didn’t matter.

Penn State was the beginning. Top 10 baby.

Sorry - I knew my post was too harsh almost as soon as I posted it. I'm legitimately happy for Indiana and love seeing underdogs rise up (and my favorite NFL team of course had Tevin Coleman for its Super Bowl run), and beating Michigan is always a big deal given the imbalance in that conference rivalry. It's still very possible that Michigan is mediocre at best, that Penn State legitimately stinks and that Rutgers is still Rutgers. But still, you should enjoy the heck out of life as a CFB fan right now.

Meanwhile, I just caught up on the Notre Dame game...and speaking someone who has supported the Irish for 40 years now, that epic game was kinda ruined by the thought that people might die directly as a result of the fans storming the field. (And who knows how many players will now test positive this week?) Sheesh - what a roller-coaster of emotion.

One hell of a display of the spread offense by Notre Dame.
This is well done and needs to be recognized.

Regarding the fans storming the field, I can't disagree that kids will be kids. The problem is that there were that many people in the stadium at all. No fans in the stadium = no fans to storm the field. But hey, "freedom" and football uber alles.

Shut up. Whiners. Irish!!!!
Yeesh, I was a bit drunk yesterday, and just realized how this might read. Directed at Dabo/Clemson for the ref working and sideline complaining. Not at anyone here. That scene on the field at the end was indeed insane, and just reiterates the folly of having any fans in the stands right now.

Eh, judging from news reports earlier this fall, the ND kids probably have herd immunity by now.
