Unfortunately, this probably won't be getting better in the short term. If they are able to play the championship games, it would be a surprise.

The NFL, of course, is facing a similar but not as dire issue. You have to figure it's much harder to contain a spread for college kids. But who knows, if people are not in a bubble, it's all at risk. The numbers are bad.
I actually think that there is a chance it could get better in the short term. Many/most of these campuses are going to be empty, so, in theory, less contacts for the players, less temptations for crowding.

She kicked off for the second half. Kind of a punch/squib, which makes sense if kicking it deep wasn't an option. Mizzou downed it at their 40. Crowd gave her a nice ovation before the kick as well.
I watched her kick in warm ups. She isn't a great kicker, she was barely making 25 yard field goals. I mean, barely. She's a pioneer, but she isn't a college level kicker.

But I respect the effort to put her in the game. It's a gimmick but one with a powerful message. Good job Vandy. Maybe next time you can find someone who actually has a powerful leg. There are certainly much better women kickers out there.

I must have been lost in the clouds, but I just put in the Michigan/Penn State game and Penn State has NO wins this year?

That's amazing. This game used to be a big one for the Big Ten. Now it's a game that means nothing. Two teams, floundering. You hate to see it.

But did they meet NCAA eligibility rules to play for this particular Univeristy on short notice?

To all those who are fawning over Ms. Fuller’s single symbolic mediocre play in a men’s game (and I won’t call it a gimmick without knowing more, if truly was the best available option it’s not a gimmick), where were you last week when she was winning a Championship competing against women?

This Devonta Smith kid from Alabama is gonna be something else in the pros. Two TDs today already and they haven’t hit the 4th quarter yet.

Maybe. Or maybe the women who would do that would rather be stars on the women’s soccer team than kick for the football team.

Equality is going to look different in athletics than it does in other fields of endeavor, and that’s ok.

They had a regular punter who punted for over 40 yards a punt, so I think it's fair to assume she wasn't the best available option

I watched both the SEC and the ACC women's soccer conference championships.

Goalies have a higher tolerance for boredom (I.e. Standing around waiting) than other positions by nature of the position.
Not surprised that it was a goalie.

Not that different from a goal kick, other than the shape of the ball (and of course the holder)

Penn State is the first team *ever* in the AP preseason Top 10 to start a season 0-5.
I do wonder whether they cobble another win if their opener wasn't given away to Indiana by horrible clock management. The end of the game yesterday at least demonstrated they learned that particular lesson.
