Make it 4-1.

And I'll say it again -- I don't care how well they've played against Miami & Denver -- and the Friars have been total studs. There's still no effing way Providence should have been allowed to play on what is essentially home ice as a fucking 4 seed.

Haha, a clear make-up call for Dayton? I agree with you, though.

What really sucks as far as bracket integrity goes is that the top two Frozen Four seeds (BU, UND) will have to face each other in a semifinal. The other will be a 15 vs either a 16 or 9.

Still, it'll be fun to see a serious underdog get a 60-minute shot at the title.

Exact;y. I think both sports (bball and hockey) should reseed at FF. It's especially easy in hockey where all 16 seeds are seeded aga9nst each other.

Should be Kentucky-MSU and Duke-Wiscy in bball IMHO.

For the third straight year the very last team to get into the NCAA Tournament made the Frozen Four. PC joins UND (2014) and Yale (2013).

The team that made the NCAAs by .0002 RPI pct pts, is going to the Frozen Four @PCAthletics @FriarsHockey

Joe Yerdon ‏@JoeYerdon 4m4 minutes ago
First time Providence has gone to the Frozen Four since Lou Lamoriello coached them and Chris Terreri played goal.

Fear The Triangle ‏@FearTheTriangle 4m4 minutes ago
Absolutely amazing what Leaman has done at Providence since he was hired 4 years ago. They had just 4 HEA wins the year before he got there

Another 5-minute major and likely game misconduct coming up against RIT's Brandon Thompson for a hit to the head on UN-O near the boards. Review upcoming.

EDIT - Grant Gallo on the receiving end. Immediately fell to the ice face down and didn't move.

EDIT - Gallo's up and shaky but appears OK. Looks like a pretty cut-and-dried call. Thompson should be gone.

And that's the call. Thompson's career is over if RIT doesn't make the championship game, since he'd be automatically suspended for the semis.

5-minute PP for the Mavs with 14:00 to play.

ESPN announcers blowing their load over the RIT penalty kill. "88%!! 5th in the nation!!1!1!"

I mean yeah, they're pretty good. But no mention of how many complete shitbums they played against in the Atlantic and their n/c schedule.

Never gonna happen, but the Atlantic should merge with the B1G so we get only 1 shitbum teams in here and not 2.

Well, as much as I laughed at the B1G's demise this year, it's a total anomaly IMO. Wisconsin will be back, so will Michigan, tOSU is on the rise, and PSU is headed in the right direction.

The Atlantic is on a completely different planet. It's basically like the Sun Belt in FBS football.

So RIT made the ESPN booth crew sound like geniuses by killing off the five. UN-O with just one SOG during the PP.

Seeing RIT/Robert Morris etc in is like the MEAC etc. in bb. But there you get to spread out the crap among 68 teams and no one really feels too bad if Colorado State/Miami etc get snubbed. UMLowell is so much better than RIT, it's a little unfair.

But RIT won a game, so can't complain this year.

Down to the final 5:00. RIT has nothing to show for its 38 shots on goal. Ryan Massa has stopped everything they've thrown at him.

No Miami-esque comeback for RIT tonight. A Pope empty netter makes it 4-0.

Final two minutes will be a frustrating skate for the kids in orange.

Ryan Massa stops 73 of 74 shots faced in the regional, including 40 tonight. Ballsy performance.

He's been hurt the past month, so great to see him back at his best.

Anyone know if this is real or just an April Fools joke? I can't tell. http://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/other-sport/belfast-host-major-college-ice-8965955

Belfast is to host a major ice hockey tournament involving top American college teams later this year.

The Odyssey Trust will host the sporting event in partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Odyssey Arena in November.

The tournament will see four of Boston’s and the USA’s top college teams compete in Belfast over Thanksgiving weekend, November 27 -29.

Ahead of the Festival of Ice Hockey the Lord Mayor Arder Carson will travel to Boston later this month to jointly launch the event with the Mayor of Boston at Boston Garden in front of 18,500 people at the Frozen Four event.

I'm about 99.9% sure it's true, not positive on the teams yet but it should be happening.
I figured we'd get a Belfast tournament before long with what Walsh said last fall, but I didn't expect it to be this fast.

Not sure if I want Northeastern to do this or not. Hmmm...

Well it won't be all Beanpot teams, since BU already has Red Hot Hockey at MSG vs. Cornell lined up that weekend.

Amped. Leaving work at 3. Not sure when I'll get to the Garden area (need to grab food), but intending to be there for both games in full. I'm sure I'll be joined by a lot of shit housed BU fans late in the first game.

Looks like ticket prices for tonight's semis are dropping on StubHub. Still pricey but now some available under $200. The brokers may have overestimated what fans would be willing to pay.

Providence up 4-1 on an ENG. And they've won.  Going to the National Championship vs BU/ND winner.

Omaha looked like they forgot their season was on the line in the 3rd. Providence just overwhelmed them and took away any hope when they answered with the 3rd goal. Great game by the Friars. Put together one more game like the last 2 and they'll bring home the championship.

Man, the announcers keep talking about the momentum North Dakota built in that 2nd period-DESPITE FUCKING GIVING UP 2 LATE GOALS.

Guys, that's not momentum. You could say they were carrying play BUT THE 2 FUCKING GOALS MUTES THAT.
