PC FINALLY looks like they're going to get an ENG, but Belpedio knocks it away right at the post and then slams head-first into the boards (almost a Travis Roy situation there...). And then he crawls off the ice.

Blown. Away.

They almost tied it. Almost.

And PC ends the longest one-game empty-net goal drought in college hockey history.

What a finish.

NCAA needs to do a better job scheduling these so they don't conflict with BB. If there's a Friday 2Pm game, why not a Saturday 12:30 game?

my bad.

Why is the NCG during the Final Four, too?
The Frozen Four is two weeks out. No conflict with BB for that.

TV dictates everything. Which means the Worldwide Leader dictates everything. ESPNU aired two high-profile lacrosse games this afternoon, a high-growth sport that they're clearly (and rightfully) trying to push (triple-header next weekend). The women's hoop tournament is also taking up multiple blocks. Then there's the NBA and the obligatory pandering to all the NASCAR and drag racing rednecks.

I mean, they don't even have enough air time available to be able to broadcast all the games, let alone optimize air times. They relegated Harvard-UNOmaha and St. Cloud-Mich Tech to streams.

North Dakota jumps in front 2-1 with 13:11 left in the 2nd on a Michael Parks goal on the rebound. Big speed rush up the left side by Drake Caggiula set it up.

Just coming here to say suck it, Minnesota, State of, going 0-3 against the field (not counting the in-state game), including being the first overall 1 seed to lose to a 16.   Denver couldn't be happier with their draw.
--------------
What a truly magnificent day of college sports.

St. Cloud State (MN) beat Michigan Tech so they got a win as well.

Anyone remember the January 16th game at Agganis between BC and BU? Watching/erasing the DVR now (was there in person), and there's no announcer audio. I can hear Jim Prior, the sticks, the arena noise, but not the announcers, either in studio or calling the game. Wondering if it's just me.

A clear off-sides (not called) gives Denver a point-blank shot on net, but Gillies stonewalls. Had they scored, it likely would have been overturned on review. 14:00 left in the 2nd.

Three great chances for PC. Three shots on net with Jaillet screened, but all three went wide.

Noel Acciari's backhander slips through Tanner Jaillet for a power play tally. 1-0 PC with 5:38 to go in 2nd.

Really strange goal by Denver. Wow. All tied up (1-1) in the 3rd. Entertaining game.

Yup,  true WTF moment. LaLeggia's shot bounced off the glass, off the top of the net, off Gillies' back, and in. Never seen that before.

Now PC gets a power play after a hit to McParland's head at mid-ice.

EDIT - Whoa. Game misconduct to LaLeggia. And it's a major penalty. 5-min PP for Prov with 9:08 to play.

In South Bend, the RIT band is right next to the Nebraska-Omaha student section. That ought to be some fun shit.

A horrible giveaway at the blue line leads to a 2-on-1 for Denver and a great SHG bid -- and they hit the post.

Major escape there for PC.

Big non-call there. Should have been interference on Denver. A justified heavy hand on the prior penalty is no justification for leniency.
