Had a chance to steal one, but you can't expect to win getting outshot by that much. They looked tired and a little slow today.

5v5 expected goals today were 3.29 to 1.51 in favor of Tampa. Rangers really need this series to be a special teams battle.

These stats are meaningless in a short series. The rangers had absolutely no gas after the first period and have dominated Tampa until the second period. It's obviously going to be much tougher here out compared to game 1 and 2 but the Rangers had nothing left.

Huge win, and doing it in style with the Kucherov dime to Palat for the buzzer beater. Momentum shifting? Maybe? Hopefully?
Probably. But taking 1 of these games in Tampa is really all the Rangers need to do because I can't see them losing 2 at home.

Though, I've definitely just jinxed it and that's exactly what's going to happen.

It's really striking how different these two series are, and how directly it matches stereotypes about the conferences.

Rangers Lightening is all dump, chase, cycle, forecheck, repeat. In the west there are just acres of open ice out there.

Maybe premature because the Rangers or Lightening may have something to say about it, but if the Avs close the deal, where do you rank Joe Sakic on your list of all time hockey legends? He sort of has that Stan Mikita thing going. A little more quiet that his more flashy contemporaries but if you take the body of work, he is pretty freaking legendary. This is an incredibly well built hockey team.

Still way behind his teammate

Do you think we could get like 3 first round picks for Ullmark from Edmonton?

It is criminal that their main goalie is Smith. With better goaltending this series would have gone at least 6.

Please send any available goaltender to Edmonton.

But seriously this summer looks like let Kane go and get a keeper or keep Kane and go cheap between the pipes.

Brutal first period for the rangers. Fortunately, I don't think Tampa can sustain that level of play for multiple periods, they started to tire out at the end.

Game 7’s are fun when they don’t involve your own team.
But this looks like TBL in 6

Turns out relying on the Lightning to have a <3% shooting percentage on high danger chances isn't a sustainable strategy. Especially when you're allowing 13 HDC per game.

If jinxes are a thing, yeah, you're doing it.

It's the content, not the number. And of course you're entitled to post whatever you want.

Then take it to PM and don't be a dick and tell me to STFU in a thread. I've been around long enough for you to at least act cordially.

That was me being cordial.

But I'll try again. Pretty please, with sugar on top, don't jinx the Rangers.

Tampa dominated last night, full stop. Rangers didn't do much of anything and it might be as simple as TB got the lead early and it let them play the game they wanted. Even so, the strategy was sound and the players executed. Quite a sight to behold. All the pressure shifts to NY now, as G5 is must-win for them IMO.

So, Sean McDonough is like really good calling hockey, isn't he?

I've really been enjoying these playoffs.
