Bought it 2+ years ago, got a lot of use out of it. Micro USB port was starting to get sensitive and it would no longer take a charge. Watched a video on how to replace the port. Popped open to check it out, ended up cracking the screen in the process. Thinking it's better to just buy a new one at this point and giving it to my son for xmas. How easy it it to sync everything back up? If I sign into google/play on the new one, will all my apps just come over?

Your paid apps will all be there.  You'll have to find and add the free ones I believe.

I have to imagine the screen replacement is at least $100 and that money is better spent towards a new one.  Its kind of like an old appliance or computer, if the repair is going to cost 50% of what a new appliance or computer will cost you should really just get a new one.  Granted 2 years doesnt seem 'old' but in technology years thats like ages ago

This is what I was figuring as well.  Just checked as to when I got it and it was May of 2013, so more like 1.5 years.  New one it is. I think Ill wait until after Christmas and see if there are any deals for the end of the year.

The new Nexus 7s or the originals? I was under the impression that almost all the new stock was gone because Google cut off the production run early.
