They're complaining because he put up temporary carport to help him get to practice on time in the even of a snowstorm. Apparently he lives in College Hill, an historic district in Providence, which is kind of cool, except that is lends itself to haughty neighbors. Maybe he can sublet a room to Mark Henderson?

That'll teach him to rent a home with some character next year he can rent a McMansion with a 5 car garage and all will be well.

The "it'll save me time getting to practice" thing seems like a ruse to curry favor with the public. He's still going to have to shovel out the car or get it plowed out. More likely he has a nice car and just wants to keep it from getting snowed on all winter long.

But whatever. He went through the proper steps to get approval for it, and it's temporary and will be taken down in March. The people bitching about it need a reality check.

Do his neighbors know that he is a dreamboat? Why would you complain about him living next to you in any form or fashion? I'm perplexed.

I live on the East Side. The thing here is that Danny rented in a Different Reality.

Eh. If I were in his shoes, I'd have a plowing service on retainer to show up first thing and push the snow from the street-left to the right side of the driveway, and I'd be on my way. Seems like a good use of $500.

La Mancha.
Someone should photoshop in an inflatable Santa next to the bush, and maybe some empty beer cans and/or a Jack Daniels bottle strewn across the sidewalk.

How did our founding fathers prevent snow from burying alive their horses?

So where is the garage?
Judging from this quote:

"It's a simple utilitarian structure, but if you had tons of these around the neighborhood, it would significantly detract from the historic quality and aesthetic appearance of the Benefit Street neighborhood," said Tim More, who has lived on the street for 45 years.
They aren't any or very few. Hence my horse question.

Tom Brady probably would have gone with a nice white car port that's more classy.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone in that neighborhood.

Maybe he can just chill with Shayanna in North Attleboro when there is snow in the forecast.

And let's not sleep on those garbage/recycling bins:
Providence Municipal Ordinance Sec. 12-63. - Time to place waste for collection; duty to remove after collection.

(a) The owner of any dwelling shall be deemed to have allowed an unsanitary condition and a nuisance to exist whenever garbage, trash or debris at that dwelling is placed out early for municipal collection. "Early" shall mean prior to 4 p.m. on the day preceding the date of garbage collection.

(b) The owner of any dwelling shall be deemed to have allowed an unsanitary condition and a nuisance to exist whenever containers used for the deposit of garbage, trash or debris at that dwelling are not removed from the public way by midnight of the designated collection day for that particular area of the city.

(c) Except for the placement of containers on the public way for trash collection, an owner of any dwelling shall be deemed to have allowed an unsanitary condition and nuisance to exist at that dwelling whenever containers for the storage of garbage, trash or debris are not screened or are otherwise viewable from the street. This provision shall not apply to nonresidential uses.

(d) Penalties for violation of subsection (b) shall not be assessed at more than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) cumulatively per calendar year for each individual dwelling. The penalty shall not exceed twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the first violation, fifty dollars ($50.00) for the second violation, and one hundred dollars ($100.00) for all subsequent violations occurring within a calendar year [plus loss of draft picks].

(Ord. 1950, ch. 350, § 4, added by Ord. 1962, ch. 1517, § 1; Ord. 1989, ch. 89-3, § 1, 4-17-89; Ord. 2002, ch. 02-3, §§ 3—5, 2-13-02; Ord. 2011, ch. 2011-36, § 1, 7-18-11)

The carport picture had a door on the side. The garage picture has a door in the front. The door was essentially moved from the front where it is in the garage pic, to the side where it is in the carport pic.

Where the fuck is that? I don't remember any house that big on Benefit Street...although I was tripping most of the time so they all looked like little toy colonial houses anyway.

I can't believe that house goes for 7 figures, or that some one making NFL money lives there. Unless it's much bigger than it looks.

I have no idea why you find either of those facts surprising.

Best I can tell, he has no kids and is 29 with a wife - how big of a house does he need? Not every NFL player needs a 5000 SF McMansion. And I'm not sure what to tell you about property values in ritzy neighborhoods of old cities. I'd suggest not looking into what a 1500 SF townhouse in Georgetown goes for, you might need to sit down.

For which the new owner (who purchased the property in 2013 after that Google Street View photo was taken in 2011) received approval from the Providence Historic District Commission in November 2013 to perform.

(Of course, they also subdivided the lot and demolished that detached garage so another single family house could be built in its spot. But let's not dwell on such matters.)

Thank you gentleman. Was starting to think I was losing my mind (which is still more probably than not, regardless). I am a few degrees separated from Dola and this story came up.
