How did we not have a thread for this already?

By this time, enough time had passed after the Marathon that we knew the Red Sox would have something planned for this. They, and really all of the Boston teams, have generally been good at handling big moments, though no one really had experience with something like this. It was a Saturday afternoon against the Royals, and for reasons I don’t remember I was on campus. I know that because I knew I wanted to watch but didn’t have a TV near me. So, I found a couch outside a dining area in the student center and watched a live stream on my phone. Had I known what was going to happen, I probably would have gone someplace where I wasn’t surrounded by people.

Still, nobody has anything to say?

This was a pretty good end-of-decade series. Despite the questionable system SB Nation has set up for how these city / team-specific sites are run, I find Over the Monster to generally be a good read.

I'm a little surprised that the Ortiz grand slam in the ALCS didn't rank higher, though. I get that #1 and #2 are basically the championships, which are obviously worthy. But in terms of iconic in-game moments, it's hard to argue with the slam.

Also, I'm so thankful I was randomly at the game where Ortiz grabbed the mic. My sister used to come up from CT not infrequently to hit games and just happened to have tickets to that one. Most of the games I've seen in person are relatively pedestrian, but that game was anything but.
