Death to the Stars

Sure, I'll take a shot at a Bruins game thread.

The Stars are the only team that has have given up fewer goals than the Bruins this season. That's the only good thing I can come up with for the NHL team that resides in Texas (say what?).

Old friend Tyler Seguin is still playing, putting up 16-32=48 points. He's getting paid well. Good for him.

Current friend David Pastrnak is playing, putting up ... more than that. For less salary. Marchand also has more points and less salary. Actually Bergeron too.

Old friend Tyler Sequin is going to skate off the ice a loser in Boston. Sorry, not sorry.

Old friend Rick Bowness is behind the Dallas bench. They’re pretty good. They started the year 1-7-1 so 36-13-5 since then. They don’t score much but are stingy and have excellent goaltending. Certainly have the firepower up front to scare you even with the low scoring totals and low production from Seguin (7.1 S% likely to blame) and Benn.

We recently got a Roomba. It cleans up everyone else's messes and often times goes unnoticed to most folks. But I know how good it is and appreciate the work it does day in and day out. So naturally I named it Patrice.

How this relates to the game tonight, well I don't really know. Just get back on the horse and put some distance between Tampa. CHI over TB and , FL over TOR tonight would be nice.

Looks like Kase is in, though we await official word. Some line juggling, Krejci gets the 2 Ducks (Ducks fly together, amirite!) and DeBrusk demoted to the 3rd line.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Ritchie - Krejci - Kase
DeBrusk - Coyle - Bjork
Kuraly - Lindholm - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Carlo
Grzelyck - Lauzon

Halak

DeBrusk as been pretty bad lately (last 22 periods: 110min, 140 shifts, 0-0-0, 13 shots, 5 goals allowed) and seems like the kind of guy who needs a kick in the butt now and then to get him back going. I don't hate having him on that 3rd line at all.

Trying to remake Lucic-Krejci-Horton with that 2nd line maybe?

Ritchie and Kase have also played 890 minutes together over the past 3 years. There should be some familiarity there which should help them ease in.

I don’t get playing Lindholm over Kuhlman, which forces Bjork to play his off wing.
I think it’s mostly just rewarding the 4th line for their strong game on Tuesday. 15% OZons start, 59% CF, 64% shots, 67% scoring chances, goals 1-0. They’ve been searching for some life from that line for months and finally got it on Tuesday. Might as well run it back and see if it’s a combination that works. They’ll do a lot of tinkering down the stretch to see where guys fit best.

I kinda like these lines. If Debrusk can get back on track that has real potential to add 2 actual scoring lines after the first line.

Goddamnit… guess it's off to find some streams I can use instead of my NHL pass.

-edit this is one of the few times cord cutting comes back to bite me.
Yep, here, too. The old reddit NHL streams has turned into its own site (I forget what it is called, but will send it to you when I get on tonight), and has proven pretty reliable to me, even on the XBox.

Color me interested as well if you don't mind. It will be my only way to view tonight.

Ice looks particularly shitty tonight.
Only like 4 people have fallen for no reason. Also Halak seems to be having trouble handling the puck. One weak pass, one pass that looked like he had no confidence and one cover when nobody was really close that I’ve noticed

It's funny, the scouting report on Coyle says he can't hit anything high and outside, but he just reached out and got some wood (carbon?) on it.

Son of a gun you’re right. I was looking at the assists column. Got to clean these glasses.

Acciari just got his 20th, by the way.

EDIT: Which you already posted in another thread. Jeez, cshea, I can’t keep up with you! You’re a one-person wire service.

I wonder if Florida is going to trade him in the offseason before he turns into a pumpkin.

We traded for Ritchie so we could have someone to throw down if necessary and we had Krejci the whole time
