Delonte Gone West

Delonte West has been out of the NBA for two years. The Slate article has anecdotes enough to take us round the bend along with him, not waving but drowning.

• Shaq: You guys think he's crazy but he's not.

He's got personality and competitiveness, and he's crazy in a good way. Other ways too:

• Delonte: I don't think that I am bipolar.

It's a pity that Delonte was so hard to live with, because he was a good complementary combo guard who made the extra pass, filled the seams, and drove the lane when the chance presented itself (but always to the left). The first time I retyped the quote, it came out as: I don't think I am that bipolar, which is probably closer to the truth.

Him having a relationship with Gloria James is an all-time great internet rumor. I have no idea if it is true, but if it is, holy schnikes.

I liked Delonte, he was a solid role player.

I'd take him back.  Good defender, excellent passer.  The strange thing is that he is such a disciplined, fundamentally sound player on the court, but off the court, well.....he's different.

Classic Delonte. I love how he says he doesn't think he's bipolar after being the one who publicly came out and told everyone that he was. Hmmmm.
