In case people fading the Nuggets didn't have enough evidence from the Lakers series, this team is good, they don't get rattled and a double digit deficit is easy to overcome. Sell them at your peril.
I'm not saying they didn't deserve their title (and they finished 1st in the west last year) or that they don't have that killer instinct (they absolutely do), just that they aren't inevitable. Instead of being viewed as a strong defending champ, it feels like most in the media are treating them as a dynasty in progress. I disagree with that viewpoint, based in part on the fact that they haven't been seriously challenged in a playoff series.True, but they took care of business quite well (and tied for best record in the west this year is nothing to sneeze at).
Denver could get away with 12 minutes or so of engaged bball against the thin and aging Lakers.
That will NOT be enough against the TWolves.
And the last several minutes (13-0 run!) suggest that when they turn it on they can play with Minn.
Thus: can Denver play like this for 24-36 minutes? Do they have the depth, and can Murray take the wear and tear?
Suns were pretty good last year. Not great, sure but they did punch Denver in the nose and Denver took a step back and then knocked the Suns the fuck out. But yeah, Wolves, Thunder, Celtics would be a gauntlet.I'm not saying they didn't deserve their title (and they finished 1st in the west last year) or that they don't have that killer instinct (they absolutely do), just that they aren't inevitable. Standing by this.Denver getting a pretty good whistle right now, IMO. They're getting away with a lot physically on defense.
That has to be one of the worst missed calls I've ever seen. Double arm full hack in the lane with no obstruction of view. A truly baffling missAnt just got hacked badly
The refs all blinked simultaneously??That has to be one of the worst missed calls I've ever seen. Double arm full hack in the lane with no obstruction of view. A truly baffling miss
The ball popped straight up in the air, a pretty obvious sign of a foul in real time. Baffling. That has to be one of the worst missed calls I've ever seen. Double arm full hack in the lane with no obstruction of view. A truly baffling miss
I mean, he's scored 25 of Minnesota's 40 points. The rest of the team is 6-27, which seems impossible.Ant being tired so early in the game doesn't bode well.
He's not giving them much on D. Must be the altitude effect no? But what he's doing isn't sustainable in multiple levels for sure.Ant being tired so early in the game doesn't bode well.
Murray got a leg transplant at half time?Exciting game here. Towns is back and Edward’s having himself a game
AgreeOutside of the finals this should be the best series of the playoffs
I feel like you've made this exact same post at other times.. and I wasn't sure what you meant then and I'm not sure what you mean now. It's weird being a Celtics fan then turning this game on. It's like they're not even playing the same sport.
Basically a requirement when your 2nd best player is Karl-Anthony Towns. Cannot be trusted in the playoffs.what a luxury to have reid on the bench
That seems like a plan. But for this game, flip a coin?I feel like I’m basically going to spend this series rooting for whoever is down a game.
I’m going with home team. I just want this thing going seven with these two teams spending 28 quarters looking like a 5’10” max effort reliever throwing 100+ mph fastballs and snapping off ridiculous breaking balls with two men on in a one run game on a humid night in July. Come out of this series like Santa Anna after the Alamo. That seems like a plan. But for this game, flip a coin?
BTW: I wondered the same thing as lars10 --- how is this game a different sport that when the Celts play? Fewer 3s?
