The Bs have Warsofsky and Morrow in the wings and can run out Chara/Hamilton- Seidenberg/Bartkowki-Boychuk/McQuaid if Krug holds out. There is no chance they make him the second-highest paid defenseman on the team. And the RFA compensation for a $4M offer sheet is a first and a third, who is giving that up for Krug?

Bottom line is he's not getting $4M from the Bruins so no need to worry about Chia overpaying him.
