Unbelievable. This is why I'm watching. It's fun, even if it ends up being a 10-game season.

So glad the Red Sox decided to not honor John McNamara's memory by blowing this game to the Mets.

I’ve been rough on these cardboard fans tonight, but I will say this for them. Not a single one has left. Not even the one who got hit in the face. Nobody trying to beat the rush.
Well done. A winning post on a winning night.

Mets broadcasters killing the Sox and Roenicke with complaints on their shifting and Workman going from the windup with winning run on 2nd base.
I heard that too and was quite confused. With the bases loaded, why would a full windup matter if it wasn’t a 3-2 count?

Does Bobby count against the tax?
If serious, I doubt it since the contract the deferred payments are from was in 1991 before the luxury tax was a glimmer in anyone's eye. In real money Bonilla got his $29 million long ago, collecting inflation and the assumed "surplus interest" now.

It was serious, I wouldn't put it past MLB to retroactive apply deferred money. I hoped the answer was no.

That was one of the most bizarre innings I’ve ever seen.
Workman walks the first two, gives up a pop up for a single, throws several nasty pitches in the zone that are called balls, throws at least two total meatballs that were fouled off, Vazquez almost throws the game way on a pickoff throw, Devers ranges way over to save a run but can’t get anyone out, Cano flares one out toward center that would have been a walk off if the SS was positioned anywhere near normal....
