Cleveland will be better next year and if they could get one more stop today they'd be in the AFFCG. Their defense plays scared.
Chad Henne scrambled for 14 yards on 3rd and 14. That is a breakdown. The 4th down play, you can't complain about the defense, it was a surprise snap and Hill, arm breaker, is the best in the business.

So the Redskins and Indians are rightly changing their name while the Chiefs fans continue to do the horribly racist “Tomahawk Chop” as faux Native American music is played over the loudspeakers. Mmm kay.
I direct you towards Chiefs Planet. Unashamed racist knuckle draggers.

He was helped by a blatant hold by the LT. He even did the "I'm innocent" hand gesture after he let go.

Win percentage is 100% if they go for it and get it, though.
Well, duh - that's why Reid went for it. Someone is going to need to break down the win probability for the various scenarios (punting vs. going for it and failing vs. 100% win probability of going for it and succeeding) and determine the break-even point for the odds needed on 4th and 1 for it to be a smart by-the-book decision. But most coaches won't go by the book; most are still prisoners of the desire not to look stupid, and Reid would have looked HORRENDOUSLY stupid if Henne had short-armed his pass and Mayfield had led the Browns down a short field for the win. (And Reid, despite last year's Super Bowl win, still has that reputation for horrendously stupid game management.) That's why it's such a ballsy call.

I think it was dumb because there’s no way Cleveland was marching 85 (or more) yards in ~1:30. They hadn’t really had any chunk plays all game long. I mean, their last TD drive was 18 plays
And they were not looking at 1:30 left if KC punts, that ball was snapped at 1:16 with five secs on the play clock left. If they kill the clock and punt it comes with 1:11 left, and CLE is looking at about 1:06 left after the punt.

The only thing that could overcome Reid’s dumbass clock management skills is Kyle Shanahan’s complete inability to play from ahead.

At best Reid comes out of that game even on the ledger. He got his all-world QB injured on one of the dumbest play calls you’ll ever see.

pretty disgusted with the Chiefs winning that game. The touchback just was a bit too much for this Browns team to overcome (not that many teams could survive that in the playoffs). Chiefs' horseshoe luck needs to fucking end.

This game was winnable for Cleveland. The moment Mahomes was out and Cleveland's offense started to roll KC was in danger.

But getting that interception and doing nothing (while killing almost all of the clock) and then letting Henne run wild on that 3rd and 13?

Also, while it was gutsy to go for it, maybe Henne was told to throw a short pass to Hill if he sees the chance, and Cleveland was not prepared. Even the announcer was thinking there would be no snap (watching on ESPN Latin). Gus=tsy call that could have gone wrong in many ways, but also very badly played by Cleveland.

I think that the Browns have a future in the NFL. Mayfield is finally playing like a 1st round pick, and they have a very good cast around him. Let's see.

Gronk came back without missing a game, but there was a bye before the Eagles Super Bowl. Didn’t get cleared until after the bye week.
That's right. I remembered it lingering for awhile, forgot about the Bye, thanks.

No matter. The real game of the week is starting soon anyway.

Even if he does, you gotta figure he misses a lot of practice this week and will still have lingering effects of the concussion. He didn‘t know what planet he was on.
Concussions are weird. Some guys just bounce back from them really quick with few, if any, lingering effects. Others are not nearly the same. It's hard to judge where Mahomes will be in 4 days.

True, but even after that, the Browns found themselves within striking distance and then, as they were allowing Henne to throw at will, came up with a key interception. This interception was mostly Henne's fault but stil...

Yep, any prediction would not be an educated one at this point.

Obviously the incentives of all concerned will be to get him out there if he remembers his phone number and so forth.

Browns absolutely lost the game. Chiefs did very little to win that in the 2nd half, if anything.

Onto the last Tom Drew game ever.

I also think the Browns OL injuries / one dimensional playcalling caught up to them on some runs that got stuffed. Browns obviously rely on the run with Chubb on 1st, or some sweeps outside, Chiefs were ready a lot of the time for that playcall today and got stuffs or losses.

The Chiefs were very lucky to be facing a 6 seed today.

California. Duh.
Overly aggressive call on 3rd and 3 leads to a punt, where they run it back into the red zone.

Is it too early to talk about Arians' coaching?
