Dolphins free-agent TE Dustin Keller is visiting the Patriots today, per source.

Not only is TE Dustin Keller visiting the #Patriots, but source tells me the physical on his knee went very well.

While this would be an interesting signing in advance of the draft, Ben Volin says the following which I agree with.

IMO, signing Keller wouldn't lessen the importance of TE in the draft. Still can't count on him and Gronk staying healthy

Would be a nice depth signing.   Can't count on him, but Gronk/Keller/Hooman with a lower round rookie would be passable going into the year.

This feels like a "Hey let's see if this guys is healthy visit" and possibly a "Hey we are allowed to have a lot of guys on the roster when training camp starts so why not kick the tires here" situation.

Nothing to get worked up or super excited about.  Good teams should be doing this type of checkins with potentially good players.

Yup. I'm holding back from my usual giddy excitement over something like this, but I think Keller is definitely worth taking a flyer on.

If the money is conditional (bonuses, not salary or guarantees) then you are correct, sir.

One piece of good news about this injury, though, was that he did not suffer any nerve damage. Apparently that's a key factor in deciding if a doctor tells a patient, "Let's rehab your ass off and see where it takes you" or "Well, enjoy your new career!"

So, with that news, I'd assume we're good to start booking hotels for the Super Bowl?

I am more than amused by the thought of Keller being healthy and contributing on offense on one side and Revis wrecking havoc on the other -- two beloved ex-Jets. Shocking, I know.

Unfortunately, I think this signing would be more towards the Kellen Winslow, Jr. end of things than the Revis.

Darn it, there's a joke in there somewhere and I'm too tired to dig for it.

You didn't book your hotel immediately after cleaning out your belly button following the Revis signing?
