Feels like this is going to be a Tampa romp, unfortunately. I think Vegas is the only team remaining that matches up well.

Shit scheduling for the Isles. Win Friday night, travel cross country on Saturday, play afternoon game on Sunday. The deck was stacked against them for this one. We'll see if they can recover.

Wait, I must be missing something - I thought the Isles played Thursday night and Saturday night then flew west before facing off Monday night? Granted, Thursday was a 2OT loss but they looked fresh enough Saturday. Jet Lag could have contributed but I think the untold narrative in these playoffs is the strength of Tampa’s defensive game. They make opponents look like they’re off their game. Bruins had like 5-6 periods where they looked themselves in that whole series.

Oh so they can call a boarding major on Tampa? Had no idea.
I'm still trying to get over the fact that the refs have the ability to review majors and just flat out didn't call anything at all on Paquette's textbook boarding of McAvoy.

Word is hamstring, and that’s an injury that just can’t be rushed. Bolts sans Point, Killorn, Stamkos will be vulnerable tomorrow night.

Darren Pang on the post game show. Kucherov is just a passionate player. Analysts in all sports put players in two categories. Passionate or dirty.

Double minor on the Isles for a high stick with 1:23 left in 3rd period, tie game.

Isles need a miracle

The Isles survive to live another day. Great pass by Lee and Eberle buries it.

Tretiak created some legacy.

If you told any North American hockey fan in the 80's, 90's, or aughts, that the 3 last goaltenders in the SC Playoffs would be Russian, they would laugh at you.

It's hard to overstate how important Point is to the Bolts. The dude has been on fire during the postseason but more importantly he lets everyone else slot in where they belong. The Bolts still generated a ton of chances, but no one could finish. Without Point, the Bolts are depending on the likes of Killorn, Kucherov, Palat, and Hedman to lead the O and they haven't been able to deliver the wins (they have some goals) when Point has been out.

The Final will be the first ever to feature 2 starting Russian goalies, assuming the Isles stick with Varlamov if they make it.

Quite a run by the Islanders. Some good young players.

Tampa, though, just has so many ways to win.
