Stating the obvious here, but it's gonna be interesting what the numbers will be like. Jules is rather underpaid at the moment but he's also getting up there in years and the question remains how much he is worth on the open market.
I'm guessing two or three years added on to his current deal at 7 per and 10 guaranteed.

He can always move into a spare bedroom at the Brady estate post retirement if he gets low on funds. This is about being able to bro out for a few more seasons.

Something tells me Edelman will have no issue with a team friendly deal. I think he'll be very comfortable finishing out his playing days in New England. He has his rings, (presumably) tens of millions in the bank, and seems to live a pretty fun lifestyle. Post football, he can always focus on burgertyme or "one nibble, everyone knows the laws"

I imagine he would also be a pretty solid analyst on TV. Funny, understands the game, obviously good-looking.

He's earned just over $10 million for his career up to this point before taxes. He's not quite in "fuck you money" territory just yet.

There's also value long term for him to stay with the Pats for the rest of his career. I think he recognizes that if he's not on the Patriots then JE11 and his Puma deal aren't income streams. On top of that, he'll be able to sell whatever cars or burgers he wants throughout New England for the rest of his life.

Assuming it's even remotely team friendly, I love it. Even a team of many likable players, he's of the few guys I'd be legitimately sad to see in another uniform.

The #Patriots 2-year extension for WR Julian Edelman that @MikeGarafolo reported is for $11M, source said. $9M in total guarantees.

Rap has it.

My guess is something like 2 years $12 million with $4 million guaranteed.
I assume to get Edelman to sign now rather than dip his toe in the FA waters, they had to guarantee him more $. Smart move on his part given the number of quality WR on the squad now.

Good deal all around. Patriots had the money to spend and Edelman is a key piece to the offense, willing to do anything to win. Pay that man his money.

Found this interesting with Edelman and Welker going for an extension for their age 32+ seasons

Patriots to Welker in 2013: 2 years for $10mm with extra $6mm incentives

Patriots to Edelman: 2 years for $11mm with extra $4mm incentives
